roots

David...<br>My great-great-grandfather was Joseph DeGrace. He would have been born somewhere close to 1827 and was from New Brunswick, Canada. I do not know his middle name or his father's name. I believe they came into the US through New York...it would have been just a short hop over to Vermont! They came down into Detroit...that is where I found them in the 1870 census. His wife's name was Salina (Celine) Villerot. In 1870 they had 8 children...there may have been more since then: Louisa, Alexander, Elizabeth, Margaret, Walter, Wilfrid David (my great-grandfather), Mary, and Josephine(who was born in Michigan). I am still in the infant stages of research but if I come across anything that may help you I will certainly pass it on...Donna Green, Alaska

What are my roots

I am looking to find information on my heritage and where my name has originated. My grand father and my great grand fathers names were Joseph DeGrace, but my great grand fathers name was Joseph Peter DeGrace. I know that my grand father was born in Bennington, Vermont. From there I am kind of lost to where as his father was born, or whom his parents were.
