My great uncle traced some family history but passed away when I was younger, but have no record of it, just whatever my frand mother remebers she is 85 yrs old and her memoryisn't so good...but i know the Degroats have been in N.Y, as early as the 1600's and came over on a boat called the Pink cow that was translated in English. They traded fur with the Native Americans and some were farmers. The Degroats also fought in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.. the only Degroat I found was a Cornelious Degroat from prisioner records. This is all the info that I have on Degroat and i would appreciate it if anybody would get back to me or email me at
