Has anyone come up with any additional details about William DeGroodt and Lillian Bernard DeGroodt? I know Williams mother was Sarah, but don't know her maiden name and can't figure out his father's name. I also can't find Lillian's parents.
Any help is appreciated.

William & Lillian (Bernard) Degroodt lived in Wallkill, Ulster Co., NY where they had many children. Both William & Lillian are buried in the New Hurley Cemetery Just north of Wallkill, Ulster Co. on Rte 208. Their stone reads...

William 1880-1950
Lillian 1883-1958

I found out that Lillian died 1/14/1958 in Middletown, Orange Co., NY

Also, from the obit of their son, Joseph, their children are...

Hi Kim - I don't know whether or not you remember me but I was married to Murwin J. DeGroodt II (your father) from 1985 to 1992. He died shortly after our divorce. You came to our wedding in 1985. Nicole DeGroodt (his youngest daughter) was born 10/4/1971 and the last I knew she still lived in the area. I gave her boyfriend some old pictures of the two of them together. Suspect you are Nicole DeGroodt? looking for the child / adult now, and I think the step-sister you are referring to... I too tried to locate her... last I heard she worked at Nordstroms in Orange County California. I called but the DeGroodt employee they had was on vacation, or some such thing. The people I know that will have the most concrete information related to Murwin DeGroodt Jr. of Poughkeepsie NY (deceased several years ago) Will be the Kimberlee. McKinney lady who did a lot of DeGroodt family research.
I also have a awful lot of paperwork re: this DeGroodt family.
I have a few letters from Murwin before he died, and would be happy to share them with any family member who would like to see / read them. I am Murwin DeGroodt Jr aunt. I am confused as to who the Murwin DeGroodt is that is posting? Albeit I know he had two children in Pougkeepsie besides Nicole. And the one girl in California, who remains elusive. The photo posted sure looks like a DeGroodt. I want to suggest the Name of Rose Ann Romano who was raised with the family of Murwins Grandma (lived on the same property, I always called it the compound) who had many, many foster children. And Rose and Judy Linda, another resource who could be helpful to dates and places. Rose lives in Western NY and Judy Linda lives in Michigan. Rose has a near total memory of names dates and circumstance that shocks both my husband Bill DeGroodt, and she may shed a lot more light on who's who, as Grandma DeGroodt was the matriarch of this family. I think to include these two in your search may produce many answers to your inquiry. Judy does not have e-mail, but Rose does, and of course they both have phones.

If you are a son of Murwin DeGroodt Jr., I am the Aunt that gave Nicole the huge photo of your Grandfather Murwin DeGroodt Sr. Hope you find who / what you are researching.
I too had a sister, who had been adopted when my mother died very young, and we were separated not knowing where each other were.
We both live here in California and are SISTERS now!
My son Bill DeGroodt and I both spoke with Murwin prior to his passing, he was in St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Murwin was 4 years older than my son, but they were not close as my son went in the Navy right out of school.
He never really returned to Dutchess County after the Navy.

hello...searching for you, just wanted to catch up with you on your search. I have information on my search and NOW I have a photo of a guy, my birth aunts say might be my birthfather or a pic of my bmoms husband. They would not clarify. I attached the photo.

Send me kid pics too. I still have the photo somewhere of your littlest one! Remember her and i looked alike?
