I have found my grandfather, William C. DeHaas in the 1860 census in Penna. He was 45 which means he was born about 1815. I have a document handed down in the family which directly links William to Gen. John Philip DeHaas of the American revolution but haven't found William's father for sure. He could be in the line from John Philip, son of the General or from Jacob, younger son of the general. Can anyone help me? William's daughter, Emma Aravilla, was my grandmother.
