Please can anyone help with following:
The above John Arthur Stanley De Haas was my late mother's ex-husband, who may have remarried after they were divorced circa 1944/45 subsequent to my birth in 1944 but he was not my father, although they had a daughter Pamela Joan DeHaas (my late half-sister, who lived with me and our late mother Gladys Annie DeHaas nee Edwards) In 1911 census for Upton, Forest Gate, West Ham, Essex (now London) it shows John and his parents as Michael De Haas 'Cigar Dealer' & Hilda De Haas (NB: her maiden name McMullen) and gives their other children (John's siblings) as follows:
Victoria age 17 born Clapham, London
Mary (Eveline) 'Feather Wallen' age 15 born Bow, London. Gordon 'Oil Colour Trade Assistant' age 14 born Lenton, Notts. Horace 'Watch Maker Apprentice' age 14 also born Lenton. Charles age 12 born Seacombe, Lancs. and Wilfred age 8 born Egremont, Cheshire (NB:Would be interested in finding any records of birth/marriage/death for any of John's siblings, or for John's possible subsequent remarriage after 1944)
Would like to make contact with any direct descendants of above family or anyone who has close connection with this DeHaas family or any useful information about them, particularly John arthur Stanley DeHaas (NB: on his death cert' it shows Louise May DeHaas & John William Kingston "causing the body to be cremated" but not sure if this Louise was his widow or perhaps another close member of his family? Possible John William Kingston may have been Undertaker who dealt with cremation?)
I have the above on my public tree here under 'Hinman Family tree (Revised)' but would be happy to send invite to view to anyone with DeHaas family connection to above family in exchange for useful info or connection lead to someone living.
