Re: OBIT-Arthur R. DEINES

It is interesting that the first wife and the first three children of Arthur R. Deines are not noted in this obit. He was married to Pearl Elizabeth Becking of Windsor,CO in 1946 and had three children by her. They are Shirley Diane Deines DOB 1946, Arta May Deines 1948, and Steven Arthur Deines DOB 03/05/1956. We somehow survived him (our mother Pearl, died in 1968)and all became professionals inspite of the attempt by "Vi" to delete us from the family history. It is nothing but a travesty that the children of Arthur R. Deines (his first three) are no where mentioned in his obit nor is his first wife - Pearl Elizabeth Becking.

This note is intended for interested parties to contact Steve A. Deines (unacknowledge son of Art Deines) at stevendtops@hotmail.com.

May we all learn the true story of the so-called "Deines Dynasty".

Christian Deines

Need parents of Katherine Elizabeth Deines, b. 30 May 1856 Russia; d. 20 Aug 1918 prob in Sutton NE where she is buried. She was married 15 Sep 1875 prob. Russia, to Henry Brehm, son of William and Anna Elizabeth Brehm. He was b. 17 Sep 1857 Norka, Russia; d. 29 Jan 1931 prob in Sutton NE where he is buried. They emigrated in 1878 on the Weiland with their first child, and settled in School Creek, Clay Co. NE.

One possible candidate for Katherine's father is Christian Deines, age 54, also from Norka, and also on the Weiland in 1878. He is probably the Christian Deinnes, age 59, who was living with his son John, age 34, in School Creek in 1880.

From the IGI:
*Katherine Elisabeth Deines, b. 3 Jul 1858 Kratzke, Russia, daughter of Georg Jakob Deines and Catherine Margaret Miller.
*Christian Deines b. 7 Sep 1820 Norka, son of Johann Heinrick Deines and Catharina Elisabeth Burback
*Christian Deines m. Catharina Schwindt 1841 Norka, Russia

From the Ancestral File:
*Christian Deines b.1821 Norka, m. 1845 Norka to Catherina [--?--], b. 1822 Norka. (no parents listed for either). Children, b. Norka: Johann b. 1846 (the right age to be the son John in 1880); Margretha b. 1858; Nicolaus b. 1860 (probably both listed with their father on the Weiland)
*Johann Dienes, son of Christian Dienes and Catherina [--?--], b. 1846 Norka, m. 1872 Norka to Magdalena [--?--], b. 1849 Norka. (the right name and age for John's wife in 1880). Children, b. Norka: Christina b. 1873; Wilhelm b. 1877; Nicolaus b. 1878. (the whole family matches names and ages in Christian's household on the Weiland)
