Hi Snyder Ross,
I don't know your Scott Dieter but would be willing to bet that he descends from Johan George Dieter and Catharina Barbara "Bevy" Dotterer who married om 9-11-1811 ans had several children in Northampton Co. Pa., and then migrated up to Sparta and Springwater in Livingston Co. NY They were both born in Northampton Co. Johan George was the son of Johan George and Barbara was the daighter on Johan Conrad Dotterer of that Co. There were several of their descendants living in that area, but I do not have Scott in my files. Hope this might be of some help Larry

Looking for information on Mary L. Deiter. According to a VanHorn book published in 1929, she may be my great-grandmother. The VanHorn book has her as the second wife of Sylvester VanHorn. The family was residing in Williamsport, Pa. in 1929. Sylvester VanHorn had the following children: Minnie, William, Stella, Ezra, Ruben, Burt, Nellie, Howard, Harry, Sarah, Thomas Jefferson.

Wolf Hunters... Dieter/Deiter...

Does anyone know anything about a Wolf Hunter who would have been in western Canada around the late 1800's.
The man's name was possibly Charlie Deiter, who was identified as a White wolf hunter that had come up from the american side of the border. Possibly he was a soldier either in the Indian Wars, or in the Civil War. For certain his last name was Deiter, or spelled Dieter. If anyone has any information please email me, he has spawned quite the large clan, and is the last known historical link in a family heritage.

I am looking for info about an Albert and an Albrid Deiter. Albert was born 11/25/1914 and had 9sons & 2 daughters and was adopted from an orphanage in Newlondon Wis. Albrid was born around 1871 aand was married to a Margareta listle.I'm trying to build a family tree but the adoptions i have run into are putting a damper on finding any info. Absolutely any small bit of information would be greatly appreciated. thank you

THANKS CARL, I HAVE SINCE FOUND LOTS OF INFORMATION ON THIS. ALBRID AND MARGARETTA LIVED IN CORNELL,MI. ACCORDING TO THE 1930 CORNELL CENSUS THEY HAD 3 ADOPTED CHILDREN.WILLIAM,MARGARET(1916),AND MY GRANDFATHER ALBERT. I HAVE MUCH MORE. ONCE I GET IT ALL ORGANIZED I WILL LET YOU KNOW.

Per Raymond Dieter's Death Certificate, he was born Sept 6, 1894 in Catasauqua, PA. His father's name was Abbet Deiter and his mother's name was Hattie Kline. He died May 10, 1953. He is burried at the Fairview Cemetery in W. Catasauqua, Lehigh Co., PA. Per the 1900 Census, Raymond lived with his parents Abbott (listed as Abbet) and Hattie Dieter in Allen Twsp., Northampton Co., PA. He was 7 years old. Per the 1910 Census, Raymond lived with his parents, Abbott (listed as Albert) and Hattie Dieter in Whitehall Twsp., Lehigh Co. PA. He was 17 years old. Per the 1920 Census, Raymond lived with his wife, Sarah J and 4 children in Whitehall, Hokendauqua Distict, Lehigh Co., PA. He was 26 years old. Per the 1930 Census, Raymond lived with his wife, Sarah J and 10 children in Salisbury Twsp., Lehigh Co., PA. He was 36 years old.
