Robert is pictured in the Cadet, yearbook of the 43-J class of the Harman Flying Center at Bruce Field in Ballinger, Texas. He is a flight cadet. I'm not kin but thought this might help some researching the family.

Very interesting family which came out of Canada, and before that New York. I think the proper way they spelled it was De La Matter. There are over 36 different ways to spell the French name that started out as Le Maistre/LeMaitre.

Past and Present La Salle County Illinois directory of 1877 on page 441 in Northville Township,Illinois
Cyrus Delamarter farmer and stock raiser, sect 31 with post office of Northville, Ill born in Canada 1820, came to LaSalle county 1848, Republican,Methodist,owns 220 acres land, valued at $11,000, married Miss Mary A Row, of Indiana in 1851, she died in 1863, has 4 children living: Robert M. Enos S., Sabina M and Cornelia J.; married Mrs Rachael Barnes of Illinois in 1864 second wife has 2 children living Mary Ann and Cyrus, 2 dead named Ira and Hannah M.

This same man is listed in census as Cyrus Delamater in the 1870 census. Cyrus is 49, Rachel 33, Robert 17,Eros 15,Savina 11, Cornelia 9, Mary A 4, Cyrus only 10months with the family is Samuel Young born in England a farm laborer and Ellen McNutt or McNett (blurry to read) a domestic servant

IN the Illinois marriages Cyrus is listed as Cyrus Delamater married Rachael Barnes sept 6 1864 in Grundy county Illinois.

Nellie married T. Herschel Newman, 30 Jun 1897, and had two children that I know of: Irene b.15 May 1898, and Richard Delamarter Newman b. 13 Dec 1902.

Lewis was the son of Pardon M. Delamater &
Elizabeth Lewis. He married Eliza Wantz. His Father
was my G. Grandfather's brother & Lewis was a 1st
cousin to my Grandfather Bird Delamarter. Pardon was
the son of Moses Delamater & Diadama Haines. Have
lots more. Contact me.

Looking for any information on Lewis Delamarter (1800'S). or children, Alice Maude (my G Grandmother), Nellie or Lewis Jr. They lived in Hagerstown MD, until Maude married John Lackhove and moved to Altoona. My Grandmother Helen, married Edwin Grove Snyder and they lived in Bellwood, PA.
