Just found a curious thing on Ancestry and I'm trying to hunt this down to verify the info.
My gggrandfather Martin Dunlap aka Delap is listed on the Boston Passenger Lists 1820-1943 on the ship Canadian arriving 21 April 1884. Martin is with what would appear to be his family.
Unfortunately, with the old handwriting and the copy that I printed, I can't make out all of the names, but there are two Johns (one is the husband), Thady, Henry, Kate, Col(?), Honor (?) wife, B(?, says downchild).
All were headed to Waseca. Martin in 1900 is in Ramsey County Minnesota, married with 2 kids. Around 1895, Thady becomes Timothy I believe and is in Waseca but then seems to disappear.
I'm trying to find the rest of the siblings. Are there any city directories available that can track them?
Has anyone else heard of the St. Paul Bishop bringing Irish families to MN to settle from the famine? Any source I can check to verify this?
Thanks for helping!
