Did Maria Delaplaine marry Nicholas Hellings, or did she marry Samuel Helling? I was under the impression it was Samuel, and I thought Nicholas *might* be one of their children (although I've been unable to find specific proof).

Do you have additioanl information on Nicholas?

There are De La Plaine's in my family tree. Jacques de Plaine B in France; son was Nicholas De La Plaine (b 1592 France, D 1696 NY) and his wife is unknown. Their son was also Nicholas De La Plaine (b about 1634 France) married Susanna Cresson (b between 1632 and 1637 in Holland, Married 01 SEP 1658 New Amsterdam, d after 1673). Their daughter was Maria De La Plaine (christened 14 NOV 1668 Dutch Reformed Church, New Amsterdam). She married Nicholas Hellings.

Don't know if this ties in with anything you have. Let me know.
