My paternal grandfather was Buenaventura
Delgado Delgado and he was born in Lares, P.R. He was the son of Jose Bonifacio (Pepe) Delgado Gonzalez who married Maria Antonia Delgado Perdomo(b. 1878 in Lares, P.R.) and
their children were Buenaventura(b. 28 Mar
1883, d. Apr 1965 in Arecibo PR), Monserrate,
and Antonio (Tono). My grandfather talked about his first cousins Monserrate Delgado Acosta, Maria Delgado Acosta and Luis Delgado Acosta who lived in New Orleans, La.
However. we never had contact with them. Our
Delgado Family in PR and some of us who came to the continent to live and create families of our own are trying to find our
families throught Islas Canarias the island
of Tenerife(Vilaflor and San Miguel de Abona), Venezuela (El Encanto) and New Orleans, La. Don Jose Bonifacio (Pepe) Delgado Gonzalez had the following brothers and sisters; Delfin, Maria Ysabel, Maria Ramona - married Pedro Aramburu y Cueto b. in Fuente Rebea, Guipuscasa, Spain), Agustin, Abdon Celestino, Ignacia, y Santiago. They were the children of Buenaventura Delgado y Leon and Agustina Gonzalez Rodriguez both b. in Tenerife, San Miguel de Abona. Maria Antonia Delgado Perdomo was the daughter of Antonio Delgado y Leon(b, in San Miguel de Abona) and Rafaela
Perdomo Acosta (b, in Venezuela and her Family was from the Canary Islands). They had the following children; Gregoria, Andres, Abelino, Nicanor, y Adela. My
great grandparents were first cousins as Buenaventura Delgado y Leon and Antonio Delgado y Leon were brothers and migrated from the Islas Canarias to Venezuela and later on moved to Puerto Rico in about the year 1823 to the Hatillo/Camuy/Lares areas
where you find the Delgados decendants. Our
family as well as many other families now comprise many names and some even change their names. Albeit the time passed we still want to find our family roots and perhaps established contact with our lost "PRIMOS".
