SCHUYLER FALLS — Kathleen Mary D'Elia, 65, of Schuyler FALLS, died May 15, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of Elmer T. and Lorrette (Grivich) Colton. Kathleen married her husband Peter on Oct. 30, 1971, in Queens Village, N.Y.
She was an avid gardener and loved all types of pets. Kathleen loved taking walks in the woods. She worked as a volunteer reading teacher at Holy Name School and AuSable Forks Primary School in AuSable Forks. She was also a director of education at St. Stanislaus Kostka.
She is survived by her husband, Peter D'Elia of Schuyler FALLS, N.Y.; one brother and sister-in-law, Deacon Thomas and Nancy Colton of Suffern, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Lorrette (Grivich) Colton; and one daughter, Mary Ellen D'Elia.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer- Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, at 10 a.m. on May 18, 2006, at Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks. Burial will be on Friday, May 19, 2006, in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y.
Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Name Catholic School in AuSable Forks.
Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
