Yes, there were lots of Dells in Ontario. Sounds like there are different branches in this thread. My husband's (adoptive)5th great grandfather was Bassnett Dell (1728-1808) who came from New Jersey after the Revolutionary War. They were Loyalists and the Crown gave 200 acres of land to those loyal. He and several sons went together and were west of Niagara Falls in Ontario. Barnabas Dell moved to West Olive, MI in 1870 with his family whereas another brother moved to Port Huron, MI.
Now in October 2011 my husband and I will be visiting this area in Ontario. Have seen a Dell cemetery online that we plan to go see. We know where their actual farm was.
Anyone know more about the Dells in Ontario and things to see?
