This is in response to a message posted by Bruce Dellis. I don't have much information about William Pleasant Dellis, but I think I may have a common ancestor. My great-great grandfather was named Pleasant Dellis and he lived in Mississippi around the same time as your Dellis. Pleasant Dellis was born in Tennessee in 1827 and died in Lee County, MS in 1878. His daughter, Willie Tennessee Dellis, married Stephen M. Francis in Itawamba County, MS and moved to Collin County, TX around 1890.

Until two years ago I lived in Tempe, AZ and met someone named Dellis who lived on my street (Fairmont Drive). I think his grandfather was William Pleasant Dellis who ended up in Texas. Does this sound like the same person?

I think that since my great-great grandfather's name was Pleasant and that he lived in Mississippi might mean that he was related to your William Pleasant Dellis. I would like to exchange e-mails and see if we can find a link there.
