Valentin Delmas is my Great great grandfather. I am researching the family and have found quite a bit but was intrigued by your statement that the Delmas family was responsible for the thin shelled pecans. Do you have any specific reference for this? Also would like to communicate about his father Juan Bautista Delmas and any information you have about his origins. Thanks.
Melanie

I think the Pascagoula or Mississippi geneology society can help you.Baron von Krebbs and Marie Josephe DeLapoint are real famous. There are celebrations and family reunions about them.As I said my great aunt Hermina Earnest is buried in the von Krebbs family crypt.I just have not had time to Put all the branches together. But I did find Valentine's name in my great aunt's geneology research.Talk later.

Do you have info on the Delmas ancestors in San Domingo? I have that Juan Baptiste Delmas went to New Orleans by way of San Domingo {Haiti}; he was the father of Valentine who married Marie Josephing Krebs. My uncle believed many years ago that our family was related to yours. Only recently I learned they also came to the U.S. from San Domingo so feel that he was probably right. Francis A. Delmas was born there circa 1785, moved to Maryland; he'd be my great-great-grandfather. One John Baptist Theodore Delmas, probably a brother of Francis A., was a baptismal sponsor for John Theodore Delmas, son of Francis A., in 1816 in Baltimore, MD. Have you any references to my family?
