Who is your great grandfather? Phillip and Anna Elizabeth Smith/Schmidt were my 3rd great grandparents. Their son Fred C. Delp (you didn't mention him in your post) was my 2nd great grandfather. Phillip was living with Minnie Delp Lottman when he died in 1912; his wife was actually a patient in the mental hospital in Cherokee when she died in 1907 and is buried in the Marshall Township cemetery in Pocahontas County, Iowa.

What Delp photos do you have? Would be very interested in getting copies of anything you have.

I have a small bit of information and one small picture of Minnie with two of her brothers, one of which is my gr-grand father. It comes from a book entitled "Delps Galore" and is the research of Leonard A. Delp, 1971 (he is deceased now) He started this line with a Phillip Delp b. Sept.27, 1828 d. Sept 6, 1912 m. August 1851 to Elizabeth Smith. The marriage license was issued in Trumbull Co.,Ohio. On his pension application the names and ages of his 4 children are given. He is buried in the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria, Ill. He had Frederick (called Frank) Delp abt. 1852. There are children listed for him. Phillip also had Minnie m. to Lottman, Louis, and Charles Edward Delp b. May 9, 1860in Wisc. d. Aug. 16, 1931 at Hancock, Minn. but is buried in Sheldon, Iowa. m. Eliza C. Delp (Delp her maiden name) on Sept.18, 1888 at Grundy, Iowa. They had five children, Ernest John,Lester Earl,Orie, Bessie, Clifford Odell. Orie and Bessie died young. I believe Minnie had children as I have a picture of a family visiting Chas E. by the name Lottman.

I just received a Delp Book from a great Aunt with thousands of Delp names in it (it states that it attempted to trace all Delps in the US at the time of printing: 1971). I see several remote possibilities but it is hard to narrow down from the info you list. Was he married? Any children? I'm a beginner at research but this book is pretty exciting to me.

All those names seem to repeat no matter which Delp line you follow. Samuel and Elizabeth are my 5th great granduncle/aunt. My line follows Issac Delp, younger brother of Micheal.

I don't have any information regarding Leona, but I did just discover some information regarding Elisha. My gg-grandfather is Rush Delph - Elisha's brother. It appears that they moved to New Madrid County, Missouri at some point. Elisha died on 26 Feb 1931 and Rush on 21 Feb 1931. At Elisha's death, Leona was still alive.

If you're interested in the sources for this information, let me know and I'll email them to you. This Delp family is an interesting line.

I have been working on the same person for some time now. He was my husband's great-grandfather.If I find out any more info, I will let you know As of now, I am stuck at Joseph and Sarah. I have info from the 1860 Census for 20th Ward, Philadelphia for Joseph R.Delp that states he is 10 yrs. old and living with a lot of other young children at Girard Cottage. I am wondering if it was an orphanage. Be in touch. Marg M

Looking for the notebook of James Sage, 1749-1820. Glen Harrison Sage, on his website, said it was in the possession of a descendant. Glen didn't answer my request for further info, bu I was told by another source that the descendant was a Carroll Delp. I would like to have a transcript of this notebook. James is my maternal 4gr-grandfather.

I am trying to find some infomation on my Gr-Gr grandmother, Leona Belle Delp (Delp being her married name.) She was married to Elisha L Delp, who was the son of Lewis Marshall Delp and Mary Ann Anderson. The only information I have about her is that she was born abt. 1877, and I have been told that she was of Native American descent. Anything will help, anything. Everything so far seems to be a dead end. Thanks in advance!

Who is Jacob Joseph Delp(h)? I'm told that he m., 1836, Elizabeth SAGE 1805(4?), (3?) - 1901 (2?), sister of my 3gr-grandfather, Charles Comer Sage.
World Connect Project pages tell me, & census seems to support, that Jacob first m., 1813, Alley Byrd. They had at least 2 children, Michael was b. 1 month before Jacob's marriage to Elizabeth. Jacob & Elizabeth are together on the census of Grayson Co., VA, taken 27 Sep 1850; Ancestry.com does not show an 1840 census for Grayson Co. Jacob & Alley are together on the censuses of Lee Co., VA, taken 9 Jul 1850 & Hancock Co., TN, taken 9 Jul 1860.
Can anyone straighten me out on Jacob & perhaps, Elizabeth?

I don't know if you had a reply from someone else about your Catherine, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Sage Delp, but would like to let you know there is a internet site www.newrivernotes.com/graysoncems/gdelpccm.htm This site shows cemeteries in Grayson Co., VA. In the George Delp Cemetery there is a Kate listed that shows D/o Jacob and Elizabeth Sage Delp. It said it was an unmarked wooden slab, (her baby buried here also). Don't know if this will help, but hope it will.
Good luck with your search.
Lucy

Thank you for your reply. My grandmother was Martha Delp Crew, daughter of William. I have been trying to run down the family in Virginia and believe I have found them back to Jacob, but not sure who is his father. I have seen someplaces that showed a Peter Delp but not sure this is right. Also, I have not found a wife for John. The only place I have seen him on the census he is not connected with anyone except his parents or son. Any help you can give will be appreciated.
I have just put my family on Ancestry.com under the Crew Family. You might want to take a peak. There is a picture of William.
Lucy
A Daniel Delp did marry a Anna Milbanks but it was not the same Daniel Delph that married as his second wife Margaret Couch in 1813. This Anna Milbanks Delph was living with her son, John Milbank Delph, long after our Daniel married Peggy Couch, etc. They were of Madison County, VA and there were at least 22 other Delph marriages in Madison County, VA--none of them can be connected to the Grayson County, VA Delphs at this time. Randy Walker's Delp/Delph DNA study would like some of this Madison County, VA line to participate in our DNA study. Also, the Daniel Delph that married Peggy Couch in 1813 did NOT marry Elizabeth Boyer in 1812. There was a marriage bond for some Daniel Delp and an Elizabeth Boyer March 29, 1812 in Grayson County, VA but the return was not found. This Daniel Delp (not Delph) could sign his name on the Bond but our subject, Daniel Delph above could only make his mark. Also in the William H. Boyer Will made out June 29, 1820 and probated in Grayson County, VA 1821 indicated that his daughter, Elizabeth Boyer was still living "I have give to my daughter Elizabeth her portion of my estate and it is my wish that she shall have no more." If this Elizabeth were living in 1821, she was not married to the same Daniel Delph that married Peggy Couch in 1813. Also, with the DNA study by Randy Walker, the Elizabeth Delph born ca. 1810-1812 was a full sister to Susannah Delph born ca. 1800 and Sarah Delph born ca. 1806 and all three were daughters of Daniel Delph's first wife whose name is still not proven. This is all included in my new book DELPH which is available on Lulu.com. Laura Moncrief

I would be interested in why you say Anna Millbank was not one of Daniel Delp's wives.
I have that a Daniel Delp (1776) married married Anna Millbank 5 Jan 1798 in Madison Co., VA. After she died he married Elizabeth Boyer 27 Sep 1812 in Grayson Co., VA. Elizabeth died the next year and then he married Margaret Couch 13 June 1813 in Grayson County.
E J Delp

Hello. My name is Leah. I am related to the Edward James Delp through his marriage to Mary Moon.

E J Delp was born in Pennsylvania. I have a 1850 census record that shows he lived with David, Charlotte, Samuel, John, Henry, and Mary Moon at the age of 20, in Osnaburg Township, Stark County, Ohio.

I also have a 1860 census that shows Edward James (EJ) Delp as the head of household in Union Township, Fulton County, Indiana. He and Mary had 4 children of there own by then: Mary, John, Clara, and Emma, but Charlotte and Henry Moon had moved with the family, to Indiana. I don't knowWhat happened to David, Samuel, and John Moon.

Edward James Delp lived in Fulton County for many years. I have documents that mention him as a Revrend. I have other documentation that mentions him buying property in Kansas or Arkansas and that a local resident had traveled with the family and returned to Fulton County. I can find no information about them after that.

In some of my information of this family, it is mentioned that E J Delp had injured one of his arms in the military and had favored it in later years.

If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, I would appreciate any information that you may have to share.
