George, Heinrich, or Herman Demand relatives

I am working on the Demand Family history. I would appreciate any information about George, Heinrich, or Herman Demand, originally from Germany, but settled in Morgan and Pettis Counties in Missouri. I know rhere are some in Texas and Arizona. I'd love to hear from you.

There is also a branch of Demands in the Michigan area that I would like to communicate with.

Heinrich was one of 3 brothers who immigrated with their mother, Anna Dorthea(Baetjen),after their father died in Germany. I am the g-g-grandaughter of one of the brothers, Jurgen (George). My records show that Heinrich died 8-30-1910 in Witchita, KS. He and his wife are buried in the Smithton Cemetery, Smithton, MO.
His father as Jurgen Heinrich Demand, and his grandparents were Jacob Demant(different spelling) and Margaretha(Roers).I have about 700 names in my file. Contact me if you want more. Linda

Hello,
I am from a long line of African-American Demand's. Most of our Demand's originated from Tuscaloosa,Alabama. However, there are many Demand's of caucasian descent in different parts of California. One Demand family even owns an orange grove called"Demand" oranges. It is difficult researching family histories however, we will both be successful.

Hello, I just read your info. about you Demand search. I am one of a long line of African-American Demand's. My name is LaJune Demand. I am the greatgranddaughter of Andrew DemandI. A number of our Demand's originated in Tuscaloosa,Alabama. It is difficult to find much info. on the Demand's. However, I'm sure we will both be very successful.

I am descended from the brother of Heinrich Demand (Jurgin Demand).Three brothers, Jurgin, Heinrich, and Herman Demand, along with their mother, Anna Dorthea, immigrated from Hanover, Germany around 1835. I have more of the history, if you are interested.

My mothers name was De Mand from the Cinncinatti DeMands Leopold who came over from France. He came over with his brother Mathias around the 1840's. Leopold moved to Oxford Ohio. If there is a potential connection let me know.

Hi Linda,

I would be very interested in any information on the Demands, especially Heinrich (Henry) Demand. I do not have brothers, sisters or parents of Henry, and I'm not sure I have the children right either. Do you know when they immigrated to the U.S.? I have 1842, but can't confirm this date. I am not directly related to the Demands as far as I know, but I am related to the Wahlers. Thanks so much for offering to help. Anything would be appreciated.

Hi, Laura, I am a descendant of Jurgen(George) Demand, Heinrich's older brother(b. 8-12-1819 in Wilstead, Hanover, Germany). I have about 40 pages about the Demands if you are interested.

Linda.. My G Grandmother was Mary C Demand b.abt.1861 in Flat Creek,Pettis Co. She married J.G. Sloan and lived & died in San Bernardino, Calif. I think Mary's mom was Margaret, and Father was Henry. They were both born in Hanover.I'm very new at this, but would appreciate a response if we are related. Thank you Gordon Sloan

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Jacob H. Demand, 29, of Palouse, Wash., died Sept. 14 in Mosul, Iraq, when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces. Demand was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Wash.

The incident is under investigation.

I'm looking for information on Heinrich Demand married to Mette Margarethe Wahlers from Steinfeld, Hanover, Germany. She was born Nov. 9, 1833. They were married 6-7-1852 in Pettis County, MO. Her father was Johann Dietrich Wahlers (1803)

Children of Heinrich and Margarethe Wahlers Demand were:
Johann, Hermann, Martha Dorothe, Martha Katherine, Catherine Rebecca, Georg Heinrich, Caroline Louise, Emma, and twins Emma Rosina and Emilie Margarethe.

That's all the information I have on this family. I'd appreciate any information at all--where they lived after marriage, immigration, birth and death dates, anything. Thanks.

but my family side came out of Alabama
I live here now, born in Chicago, raised up in Detroit MI
i always looked in phone books for anybody named
demand, and never seen one but myself

you really interested me, because my maiden name is lena demand my father's people came out of Alabama I was named lena after a I think cousin of my father, it was 2 more lena older, my grandmother was a brown and I think 22 children my grandfather's name was Andrew

I am looking for information on a Jacob Demand/Demant, born in 1813 in Wilstead, Hannover, Germany. He is the son of Jurgen Heinrich Demand (1777-1828) and Anna Dorthea Baetjen (1785-1873). He is the older brother of my ancestor, (also, Jurgen Heinrich Demand). The mother and three sons came to the U.S.. via New Orleans around 1835. There was no mention of the older brother, Jacob or an older sister, Antrine, born 1816. Does anyone have any information on these two persons? Any help would be appreciated.

My ggrandmother is Dorothy Elizabeth Demand, sister to Myla, Salena, George and all the rest. I'm trying to get in touch with one of Dorothy's sisters to find out any info I can. Dorothy's father was Harris Demand, but I don't know if Lena Brickett was her mother or not. Dorothy was born in 1911. And my grandfather is still in touch with at least one of Dorothy's sisters (its his aunt). Will post more if I find out anything. I'd also like more info on John and Harris and any others. I'm having trouble finding anything.

Dorothy Elizabeth Demand (sister of Gladys) married Oliver Edward Holmes (from Connecticut). Their children were Ronald, Erwin Harris (my grandfather), Edward Oliver, Margaret, Sue, and Donald.

John (Jean?) Demand

Anyone have any info on a John Demand thought to have been from Paris, France. He married Hilmeyer Wahlburgar born in Lancaster, NY. Their son was Harris, born in NYC, NY in 1878, and dies in Waterbury, CT in 1932. Harris was married twice, the second time to Lena Brickett, with whom he had several children including Gladys, Selena, Myla, George and Emily. Any connections or possible connections would be helpful!

My most recent info gives my grandmother Gladys' parents as Harris and Lena (Brickett) Demand. Harris was the son of John (Jean?) thought to be from Paris, France. Harris was born in July of 1878 in NYC, NY, and lived in Waterbury CT in the 1910's. Looks like Jakob and John are of the same generation. Also, John's wife was Hilmeyer Wahlburgar thought to have been born in Lancaster, NY.
