Any luck finding Lowe Dement's grave? Lowe's brother, John Jefferson Dement, was a surgeon in the 27th Alabama and the 49th Georgia, and my great grandfather. They were the sons of John Dement from Madison County, Alabama.

Charles Hall and Mary Dement marriage

Does anyone know anything about a Mary Dement who married a Charles Hall in the 1800s? They lived in Crittenden, Arkansas in 1865 where their dau. and my gggma was born on Sept. 28, 1865. Her name was Margaret Elizabeth Hall. She first married a Mr. ? Rushing in ? , then married my gggrandpa in Pope County, Il in 1894. Any info will be appreciated.

James Addison Dement and Izora Dement were married in 1885. They had 7 kids. Oldest was George who is my grandfather.
James died in 1919 and Izora remarried a few months later to a man named Monney(John H). SHe died 7-21-1921.

Hi: James Bealor Dement was my 2X great. He is buried in Larchwood Cemetery, Larchwood, IA. HIs son married Izora who was his second cousin. She is buried in Sioux City SD. He is buried in Larchwood. There is a street named for the Dememts in Larchwood. David (Izoras' father) is buried in southwestern IA. I can give you more info at a later date if you would like me to. Sharon, your distant cousin.

It's always nice to find long lost cousins. I was an only child so I need all the relatives I can find. Ha. Have you ever heard anything about a Dement reunion that is held somewhre in the south like Alabama that is held in the summer. My cousins told me something about finding some info about this. We said we should go and see who we can find.

Hello Cousin! I am a descendant through Benjamin also; my grandfather John Calvin Dement was Jesse Lural's full brother. It is always nice to run into someone else in our "branch" that is doing family research.

My background is from Charles Edward Dement-Jesse Lural Dement-Benjamin Dement-charles Gilbert Dement-Charles Dement born 6 Mar 1740 and died 23 Nov 1822 in Alabama-John Dement 1723-charles Dement 1681 Rochell, France-Jonathan Dement 1654 Rochell, France and last person I have is John Dement no date. John, I don't think so. The Dement side I am front started out in Tennessee area and then to Arkansas, then Southeast Missouri (Poplar Bluff, Dexter, Thayer, & Doniphan in Missouri areas).
I did not see any relation to the ones in Oregon or Mississippi. But thanks for the posting !

Would this Dement family have relations from Meridian, Mississippi? I had a cousin through the Ormond family named William Ormond Dement from Meridian and eventually settled in Oregon.

Lowe Adolphus Dement was born 15 Aug 1845 in Huntsville AL the youngest son of John H. and Celia Lowe Dement. Lowe's older brother was Dr. John Jefferson Dement (1830-1891) who was a well known confederate war surgeon.

He was killed in the Civil War at Jackson MS

I have noted Probate #2774 and Guardian account #1989 which are likely found in Huntsville.

I don't know where he is buried. However, his parents and some siblings are buried in the Dement Cemetery Huntsville, AL

No, I sure don't know her husbands name. I am treading on a touchy subject here and I am trying to locate Evelyn's son. I havent seen the Kerns family in 40 yrs. I found Evelyn's name in Ernie Kern's obit. I just wish I could contact Evelyn's son.

I am searching for the burial site of Lowe N. Dement who was the 1st. color bearer of the 35th Alabama Regiment Company B. He was the son of James J. Dement of Huntsville, Alabama. Lowe attended LaGrange Military Academy in 1860 - 1862. He died at Jackson, Mississippi the summer of 1863. His grave marker is misspelled and I would like to change that.

John Levi Dement was my great great grandfather. I just started my research so I still don't know much but the only name I can give you is Roxieanne or Roxianne, not sure how it's spelled.

Paul Edward's father was George W. I pretty certain you will be of the old George line going back to the mid 1600s.

Yes you can if they agree to it. You have to have a live Dement who claims kin to your supposed father. Do you know any Dements who will talk with you. If I can help please let me know. I will be happy to talk with them if you find one. You can do a dna test your self but it will be a mtDNA and not yDNA so won't help with the Dement side. Gene

I don't know if this is your family, Lemen could be Leon, it is the only Cecil Dement in CA, and apparently ties to the person you called in 1965/66. It gives you some places to investigate. Look for obituaries and death certificates.

Norma Bennett(Evelyn's sister) of Little Hocking, Ohio was alive December 2005 when their brother died. Evelyn was born 5 Dec 1938 according to social security. Do you know the given name of her husband?

Hi: My grandfather was JA & Izora Dements' son George Alexander. I know JA is buried in Larchwood, IA with the same headstone as his parents and that Izora is buried in Sioux Falls, SD.
