Carrie A. DeMont
Mrs. Carrie Alta DeMONT, 87, R.R. 3, Argos, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn hospital after being a patient there for several weeks. She had been in ill health for the past year.
Mrs. DeMont had been a resident of Marshall and Fulton counties for almost her entire life, coming to this area as a small girl after being born in Tiffin, O., on July 5, 1889. Her parents were Carl and Anna SHRIVER JORDAN.
On Dec. 16, 1911, she was married to Earl G. DeMONT in Plymouth. She was a member of the Gilead Methodist church, the W.S.C.S. of that church, the Green township home economics club and the Whippoorwill Ladies Aid club.
Survivors are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie MILLER, Detroit, and Mrs. Mary McCRAKEN, Marion; two sons, George [DeMONT], R.R. 4, Plymouth, and Norman [DeMONT] R.R. 2, Argos; eigh grandchildren; thee sisters, Mrs. Agnes FECHNER, Culver, Mrs. Lillian WALTERS, Mishawaka, and Mrs. Margaret SPENCER, Orlando, Fla., four brothers, Ralph and Elmer JORDAN, South Bend, Harry JORDAN, Mishawaka, and James JORDAN, Muncie. Four children preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Grossman funeral home in Argos with the Rev. Robert ARMSTRONG, of the Gilead Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery.
