we're related.....my father was Jack Dempsey - son of William and Mary.I just started using this site when I came across your inquiry. I found the death notice to William J Dempsey and his fathers name is listed as Hugh and mother is Catherine Burns Dempsey. Also listed were brothers John and James but no sister. Mary's maiden name was Gibbons...but I do remember hearing of a Donnelly tie..just not sure how.
