Hope someone can help me here. I have an Alexander Dempster B1815 Muirkirk, Ayrshire. His partner/wife was either Jean or Jane Mathieson. I can find them on the censes records but some have her as a Dempster and others Mathieson. I have tried to locate a date of marriage but can find nothing. They had 8 (I think) children, the first being born 1844 (Robert Dempster) and the last S Dempster (born 1866) all Muirkirk. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
