I can't believe I'm the first to post a message to this family name. We must be a small family. I have a great deal of info on the Denbo(w) line(s). Anyone interested may contact me at
bauere@yahoo.com.
As for the family my research leads me to believe that there are two lines. One beginning in New Hampshire with Patric Denbo (b 1607, d abt 1660) who came from London, England and the other beginning with John Denboe (b before 1640, d before 27 Nov 1704 in Cecil county, Maryland).
I've seen many attempts to tie these two lines together. Perhaps in England they are related, but in America, they are seperate. The attempts to tie them together spring from a gap of information during the Revolutionary War. It is hard to find information about the Maryland branch after the Revolutionary War and there is a Salathiel Denbo who served in the Revolutionary War. The attempts to tie the two lines together spring from the idea that Elijah Denbo, during the war, was in Kentucky in 1788 and in Corydon, Ind in 1802. Though this is a fact, I can find no ties to him and the Denbo(w)'s in that area at the time. In fact, I find that the Denbo's already there draw their ties to the Maryland Denbo's.
