Wow- thank you so very much for replying!

Charles and Filomena are grandparent to my grandmother, Herminia Dennett- married to Dessie (or Desiderio) Ochoa.

My mom and dad remembered hearing that my grandma's father was part Irish, but we didn't have any other details.

Thank you so much- my mom will be very excited to hear this!

Our aunt got a picture of him from her cousins (related to my grandmother's sister Filomena Dennett (Watts) which was also exciting to see. I have it posted to the family tree I created.

Our family still lives in Tucson too.

Do you think we might be able to exchange more information sometime? My grandparents, Herminia and Dessie, passed away in 1993, so it feels like we are losing stories and information.

Yes, this person is my husband's grandfather, born 1865 in Sonora, to Filomena Gracia and Charles or Gordon, or Gabriel Dennett, depending on which document you're looking at. Story goes that he was originally from Ireland, immigrated to Boston, then ended up in Guaymas, Sonora. He was said to have been accompanied by an un-named brother who returned home, wherever that was. We've found his children's baptism certificates, but no info on him. The family moved to Arizona, and many of them live in the Tucson area.

The father of my great grandfather Charles Dennett, we thought was named Charles also, but a death cert indicates his name was Gordan and from Boston, Mass.

We are trying to find ties to our Alois Wolfenberger and his wife, both buried in Pittsburgh PA. WV is right next door. Maybe we can help each other. I just made a reply post to someone else that has Wolfenberger info. Maybe we can all share what we have. Our Stephen/Stephen line goes back to the Pughs who resided next door to Wolfenbergers and have shown up together on OH and PA census. In our family cemetery plot there is a monument with the Wolfenberger and Pugh Surnames. We were once told there was a Bleedinghauser/Bleedinghiser family member buried there too. The headstones have since been removed. We are not having any luck finding these surnames in PA and OH. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm interested in sharing information on Woodmancote Dennetts starting around 1588 when John Dennett was born then married Ellenor Goffe in 1611/12.The son of John,also John then married Ann Gratwick in 1637.From then,the Dennett details are murky.

Had children: Marian F, Martha, John W. and Agnes between 1896-1903. Frederick was steamfitter, died 1911 at Dickinson Hosp. in Lewisham. Ellen still alive in 1930 census. Ellen's father, William Tyler, also noted in 1920, but not 1930, census. Daughter Marian married Fred Wagner.

Seeking birth, death and ancestry of Nathaniel BARTLETT who married Elizabeth DENNET. Here is what I have (sources provided on request):

In the History of Newfields, New Hampshire, the author indicates this Nathaniel had a father Nathaniel, but offers no evidence for this fact.

GENERATION one

Nathaniel BARTLETT married Elizabeth DENNET on 23 Oct 1739. He died before 15 May 1755 when his estate was probated at Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

Nathaniel Bartlett died intestate: His widow Elizabeth was designated to administer his estate 15 May 1755 in Exeter, New Hampshire.

On 31 March 1761, a warrant was issued to divide the real estate of Nathaniel Bartlett late of Exeter, New Hampshire among his widow and children.

One portion went to Eliphalet HALE of Exeter, physician, and Elizabeth his wife who was the widow of Nathaniel BARTLETT. [Compiler's comment: This indicates the widow Bartlett married Eliphalet HALE sometime between 15 May 1755 and 31 March 1761].

One portion went to Eliphalet HALE and Elizabeth wife in her right as the next of kin to her eldest son deceased. [Compiler's comment: Only one son can be found, Nathaniel born 9 Dec 1745, so this indicates the son died before 31 March 1761 at a young age].

One portion went to Trueworthy GILMAN Jr and Elizabeth his wife in her right (she being a daughter of the said intestate. [Compiler's comment: This indicates daughter Elizabeth, born 7 Feb 1741, married Trueworthy GILMAN Jr. some time before 31 March 1761. Since she was barely twenty years old, the marriage must have been in 1761 or shortly before].

One portion went to Dorothy BARTLETT, daughter of said intestate. [Compiler's comment: Since no other children are mentioned in the probate record, it is assumed that daughters Mary-1, Catherine, Mary-2, and Priscilla died at an early age.

Elizabeth (DENNET) BARTLETT married Eliphalet HALE before 31 Mar 1761.

Children of Nathaniel Bartlett and Elizabeth Dennet all born at Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, were as follows:

i. Elizabeth BARTLETT was born on 7 Feb 1741.

ii. Dorothy BARTLETT was born on 19 Apr 1742.

iii. Mary BARTLETT was born on 17 Jan 1743. She died young.

iv. Nathaniel BARTLETT was born on 9 Dec 1745. He died before 31 Mar 1761.

v. Catherine BARTLETT was born on 21 Jan 1748. She died young.

Dorothy BARTLETT was born on 19 Apr 1742 at Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. She married Eliphalet HALE, son of Eliphalet HALE and Elizabeth JACKSON. She died on 7 Apr 1804 at age 61. She was buried at Winter Street Burial Ground, Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

i. Charles Emery STEVENS was born on 24 Mar 1815 at Pembroke, New Hampshire.

I am in-touch with a Robin Bremner who is also descended from the Lumsdaine family.

Do you know him?

Found the birth for John James Dennett in 1895 Northfleet.

Also John Lumsdaine Dennett bc1882 d1884 Northfleet.

The 1911 census page for John and Mary states that they had four children with three living. Alas, I cannot find John James after the 1891 census.

Also, found deaths for James and Isadora 1893 & 1896 strangely both in Camberwell???

Dear Lorraine, I am trying to trace a James Dennett who married Louisa Lumsdaine in 1844 in London area. As far as I can work out they had two sons, James Henry Dennett and John William Dennett. James Henry married, I think, Isadora Sophia Waby and he was a in the Police force. John William may have married Mary David and had Louisa, Beatrice and perhaps John. If they are of your family please let me know.

I have seen your posting on Ancestry. My great grandfather was born in Crowcombe, Somerset, which is close to Crewkerne. I am afraid I don't have very much information about his ancestors, but his name was Charles and he married Lydia Stenner. Their daughter, Bessie, was my grandmother. There were other childen as well.

I do not have any information on your relatives.

anyway I am From St Helens and my great grandma was Elizabeth Dennet Jun 7 1837 - Apr 21 1904 she married Lionel Swift who started
Swifts bakery which became well known in the town
and lasted until the 1950s
Her mother was Jane Dennet Feb 14 1814 - Jun 23 1874 MY G G GRANDMA married to Samuel Dennet Jane came from Hull but I dont know her maiden name
there was talk of a danish connection via Samuel who worked on the railway
in 1871 Jane was living in church st as a widow with her daughter Elizabeth and husband Lionel and their children
they are interred in St Helens cemetery and appear in censuses from 1841 onwards

I probably have more details on ancestry.com as I put them up when I had a membership a couple of years ago.
I met Cora and I think Bella many years ago at my grandmother's funeral back in 1977. Some of the sister's were doing genealogy. I can't remember which one at the moment but I do remember seeing a book with lots of pictures.

Elizabeth Dennett was my grandmother. She had five children, Reginald Arthur, Jessie, Ellen, Alice and Audrey. Ellen was my mother. The siblings you name for Elizabeth sure sound familiar. I never knew my grandfather, Reginald, as he had passed away when my mom was still quite young. I would appreciate any info you might have on them and also on the rest of the family as my details are quite sketchy at best!

I think I may have a hit. Elizabeth Dennett (sometimes name spelled Dennet, or Dennette, but also Dunnet)
Elizabeth Dennett married Reginald Cook, parents are Peter Dennett and Catherine Lawson. They are in the 1901 census. Peter is Metis and so is Catherine Lawson.

I have a Mary Ann Dennett born to a John & Mary Ann Dennett in Surrey, England, 1863.

Other children are Ellen, 1864..Henry, 1867.. Elizabethm, 1872 and Alice, 1875.
