Hello again. I well remember visiting with Myrtle there in her home up on the hill above Lake Dore when I was collecting stories for the Dennison book. She was a lovely lady and a real source of information.
She showed me the Dennison family bible that she had, John Dennison and Rachel Potter's bible, and I believe she intended to pass it on to her son Gordon, who lived at that time up in Petawawa.
I think Ormie Dennison was my Dad's favourite cousin and Dad told me almost as many tales about Ormie as Ormie had himself. I too wish I had written them all down! He led quite a life, partially because he had such an 'itchy foot' and kept on the move all his life long.
We visit the 'valley' every summer and always drop in to visit The Point churchyard, so we drive by Myrtle's old log home, the old Greersford Post Office, each time we are there and I think of her.
