Just had a thought. Where in Ottawa did the family migrate to? My Henry Thomas Dent married a Jean Cowan, who was born in Ontario province. They lived in Bay City, Michigan for most of their married lives. Their son, my grandfather, Edward Cowan Dent, eventually moved to California in the L.A. area.
