It's very possible this is my great grandfather. At present I am away from home on a hotel computer, so I'm going from memory on dates, etc. I did see this family in the 1861 census and suspect it may be them, but can't confomr it.The family oral history only indicates Henry Thomas Dent was from Manchester. I don't have any information on his parents. I have a birth date of 1857 (I think!--I have the correct info. at home). From US census info. he came to the U.S. around 1879 or 1871 (the date's a bit hard to read. He lived in Bay City, Michigan for most of his time in the US. He married Jean Cowan (of Scottish descent) in I believe the late 1890's. I recently visited their grave site in Midland, Michigan. I return home around August 11th. Will send more specific information then, butr hope we have a match.
