Am searching for information on my g g grandfather, Henry Thomas Dent. He was born Sept. 1857, family oral history says in Manchester, Eng. According to census info., he immigrated to US in 1871, but may have stopped in Canada first. I have good info. on after he came to US, but am searching for his parents and roots. I have searched 1861 and 1871 England censuses, and believe that a Henry Dent, son of James Dent of Burnley, Lancashire, MAY be him, but need proof. Census indicates he was born in Burnley, but that is about 25 mi. N. of Manchester--where his mother was born, so it's possible, family remembrances being what they are.
