I need to sort out my Dents of Burnley. It seems they were breeding like rabbits in the 1800s and they all gave their children the same names, so it gets very confusing. I'm going to work out a proper tree for that lot, so if I find out more about your branch I'll let you know.

Interesting to hear that your Dents emigrated to NZ. That must have been one hell of a decision to make, given there were no telephones, email or planes: it must have been like a final "I'll never see you again" farewell. Presumably you've checked the outgoing passenger lists to see when they left the UK?
