It is possible that we are related. Henry Kimball Deo and Emma Jane Joiner were my great great grandparents. My grandmother, Sylvia Maine Denney was raised by her grandparents, Henry and Emma Deo, after her father died so I have information and some photos of them. Emma Jane was born 28 Sept 1851 in the town of Ward, PA. There is a creek near Ward, PA named Joiner Creek, possibly after the family. Emma was one of several children born to Roswell Joiner and Lydia Ann Wilcox.
She married Henry Deo in Pine Valley, Chemung Co, NY on 5 April 1872. The original church where they were married burned, so I was unable to get marriage records, but the information came from my grandmother. They had three children, Lucy Theodore born 20 Dec, 1872, Arthur Deo born 24 May 1881-died 19 Nov 1882, and Mary Elizabeth, born 2 Dec 1883. All the children were born in Brockport, NY. Henry Deo was a packet boat captain on the Erie Canal. His wife, Emma, cooked for passengers on the trips. The family lived on Erie Street in Brockport for many years.
If you are interested in photos, please advise with an email address.
