A cousin had been able to trace Charles to 1805 and so far hadn't found records of him after that year, so knew his death to be post 1805. This is the year on his land grant in Barton Twp.

Capt Charles Depue/Depew Sr and his brother John are brothers to Mary Depew-Stewart. (I am descended through Charles.)

Magdalene Horning is the daughter of Peter Ludwig HORNING; b. 1738 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; d. 26 Dec 1822 in Hamilton, Ontario; buried in the Old First Methodist Cemetery, Hamilton, Ont. and Isabella Mary RICHARDSON (Some have her nee name as GAGE); b. about 1741 in Montgomery Cty, Penn; d. bef 1818 in Hamilton, Ont.

James DEPEW (son of John & Magdelene) I show his birth as 08 July 1787 in Barton Twn, Wentworth Cty, Ont. and died Oct 1857 in Nichol Twp, Wellington Cty, Ont and his occupation as Blacksmith. Married in 1811 to Catherine MEDDAUGH (MIDDAGH); b. 04 May 1791 in Marble Twp, Ulster Cty, New York. I don't have any death info for her. Do show them with 12 children with the last being born in 1837.
