I apologize, here are some additional dates and pieces of information that I have.

I show for Joseph:
Born in St. Aubert Quebec on 3/8/1847
He crossed the border around 1878 (although I can't verify thie accuracy of this year, although the oldest child is showing to have been born in 6/1884 in North Dakota)
There is a census showing him in Grafton City, North Dakota in 1900.
There is a census showing him in Walhalla Ward, North Dakota in 1910 and 1920.
I show his death in Dayton, Minnesota on 9/8/1924.

For Agnes O'Conner Deschenes:
I show she was born in Canada in 8/1863
She is on the census in 1900 in Grafton City, North Dakota.
I apologize, I don't have as much information on her.

He is on the 1900 census in Grafton City, North Dakota
he married Mary Deschenes between 1900 and 1924 (birth of first son, Edward)

This was a while ago that this was posted, but I believe that Charles James Deschenes was my great-grandfather. He married a Mary J (maiden name unknown). They owned an ice cream shop, although I don't know what state that was in.

Charles and Mary had 3 children, Edward, Darinne and Norbert. Norbert is my grandfather.

As for information on Joseph and Agnes, I may be able to find out more in talking with my grandfather. I know that he has some geneology information going back quite a ways.

Thank you for looking that up for me. I have that same record from the LDS site. Based on that record I have looked for the baptism of Jean Baptiste in the St. Thomas, Montmagny parish record book on the LDS site but didn't find him. The registers on the LDS site are not indexed. So while it is certainly enjoyable to flip through the pages, it makes it tricky when you don't know exactly where the record is to be found. I searched through approximately 15 years of records looking for his baptism but didn't find it. So I don't have his baptismal record or more importantly, his parents marriage record which would list their parents.

PS. I agree that ibte is JBte. I have seen it before.

I just found this marriage record on Ancestry.com in the Drouin records. It appears to me her name is "Eudocie" Caron, Daughter of Jacques Caron and M. Felicite Talbert. Also, someone made an erroneous 'correction' that his name is "Ibte" - I believe they are referring to the common abbreviation of "J Bte" for 'Jean Baptiste'.

I don't have access to the Drouin records, do you?. I tried to find Jean Baptiste's baptism and also his parents marriage in the LDS copies of the Quebec Parish registers. But I didn't get far as I'm not sure which parishes to look in.

I have an image of the marriage register - 30 Oct 1848 in Cap St. Ignace. Jean Baptiste is listed as a resident of St. Thomas. His parents are listed as Antoine Deschenes and Margurite Allison (both deceased at the time). I've looked through the St. Thomas registers on LDS and can't find his baptism. Does anyone know where exactly he came from?

If the church can be infiltrated by sexual deviants, homosexuals, lesbians and every imaginable type, then is it so hard to imagine that several police forces in Quebec, Canada have also been infiltrated by these same sexual deviants? Not only are they infiltrated extensively, but these are some of the largest police forces in Quebec which are concerned. At first I had information that suggested that this was something that happened over a period several years ago, but I recently learned that still today, new officers that are coming into these forces are for the most part sexual deviants. *
I live in the area which you refer to as District de la Capitale-Nationale–Chaudière-Appalaches. On Saturday morning very early about 3:30 A.M. on July 4th 2009 I called 9-1-1 because of strange cars coming and going around my house. I have called the police before concerning this problem and nothing has been done. These cars park down below on the main road, or in the parking of a local pavement company, which is directly below my house, and periodically drive up into the cul-de-sac where I live. This goes on night after night at the strangest times… one, two, three o’clock in the morning. Not only do they continually drive by my house at these hours but they often sit outside the house in their automobiles on the street. If I attempt to go out and see what they are doing they quickly drive off.
Saturday evening after calling the emergency number (9-1-1) and asking for something to be done, I went outside and walked along the street and I found a car completely submerged in the ditch with about seven young people who had piled out of the car. No one seemed to be injured and after talking to them I learned that they had just returned from Woodstock in Beauce.
I waited until about 5:00 A.M. and by this time the towing truck had arrived and towed the car out of the ditch, but there was no evidence of any police showing up in the area.
I should state that the cars that continually come to the cul-de-sac where I live have no connection with the young people that had the accident on this particular Saturday morning. These were healthy young people out having a good time, but the men who come to my house are, as your officers know, sick sexual deviants! I understand that several of your officers have an excellent liaison with these people.
I could relate more disturbing incidences from this evening but since no police arrived at my house, I am assuming that you are not interested and have no intention of looking into this situation. I can only assume that I will have to take other corrective measures, myself, to contain this harassment.

Belanger and the late Blanche (Martin) Belanger. Ms. Deschenes was a graduate of St. Louis de Gonzague High School in Nashua. She is survived by three children, Christopher Deschenes and his wife, Dianne, Angela Deschenes, and Matthew Deschenes; three grandchildren, Amanda Deschenes, Christopher Deschenes, and Sarah Deschenes; her father, Roland Belanger and his wife, Jaqueline; two sisters, Vivian Webster and her husband, Robert, and Elaine Larosa and her husband, Richard; one half-brother, Roland Belanger Jr; as well as several step-brothers and step-sisters.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua, 9:30 am, Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Friends are invited to attend and are asked to meet at the church.

Marie Pomela Dion is the wrong name. Prudent Deschenes married Adelaide PLAMONDON. This might help you in your search. They were married Feb. 1 1875 in Quebec City, St Roch Church. My great grandmother, Adelaide Miville-Deschenes is their daughter.

I don't have info on August the father, but August (the son) appears in the 1900 US Census, in Greenville, NH (Hillsborough County) (Spelled as DECHENE)
with the following family members:

August- born Nov 1869 CN, Immigrated 1886. his occupation is listed as weaver/cotton mill
Delvina- wife- born Dec 1865 CN, Immigrated 1887.

They report being married for 12 years, and having 7 children, 6 of whom were living at the time of the census.

My research shows that Jean Baptist Deschenes had a son Jean Leone Deschenes who married Aurelie Graval. They in turn had a son Moise Deschenes who is my great grandfather. Moise (born Oct 8,1837; died Feb 28, 1921) married Delphine Lafortune(married Feb 24, 1862) and had 10 children. My grandfather Joseph Deschenes (born Apr 23, 1885; spouse Marie Anne Demers), as well as,Melina Jim Sam Eustache William Pacifica Arazlie Virginie and Emilie
My grandfather had 12 children
Joseph (my father, married to Lucille Farmer)

You may find Napoleon/Paul's birth record in the PRDH as it says it goes to 1850. An excellent resource.

If you don't find Paul himself, there may an older 'Napoleon Deschenes', possibly an uncle or grandfather with the same first name.

You might post a query to the Quebec list on Rootsweb. There are many researchers will all Deschenes family information. There most likely will be someone very familiar with Rimouski and its records.

Hi Kelly...I just found out that my great grandfather's first name was Napoleon ( Paul for Short). Born November 1, 1848 - Quebec....but I can't find where. Children included
Ernest March 27, 1879, Lydia Sept. 22, 1884m Alfred April 7, 1891, Eva November 21, 1892, William (Willie) Dec. 27, 1894, Conrad January 3, 1897 and Elizabeth May 16, 1900.
Do any of these names run in your tree?
