There is a new book, Founding of the Cumberland Settlements: The First Atlas, which was written by Drake, Masters, and Puryear that has a section on Robert Desha and his family and their move to Tennessee. It is an excellent resource and was recommended to me by someone at the Tennessee State Archives.
