Sophie DESHAIES.St.CYR

I have been searching for quite some time for Sophie DESHAIES.St.CYR born in the 1824 timeframe to Louis and Marguerite (DANEAU) DESHAIES.St.CYR. They have a daughter Sophie born in 1815 but she died in 1816. They have another Sophie born in 1836 but this is not her because she was married in 1839 to Augustin GELINAS. She is listed as a minor in her marriage and in each census it states she was born about 1824. I do not find her death record so I can't tell you how old she was when she died. While researching the DANEAU surname I happened upon a website that has her listed with a birthdate. YEAH! Since then the LDS site has not had the records available for research. All the children were christened at St-Jean-Baptiste in Nicolet, but the website had her record as being at St-Francois-du-Lac, Yamaska. Is there anyone who can find this record for me? Her dates from the website are born 17 June 1824 and christened on the 18th. She has been a mystery for a while so if this is my Sophie I will be quite happy. Thanks, Cherryl Ball, Frisco, TX

Telesphore, was my Great-great grandfather through his son Wilfred, your grandfather's brother. This would make you my second cousin, once removed.

I have done extensive research and traced the Deshaies line back to Pierre Deshaies dit St. Cyr (born 12 March 1648 in Rouen, Normandie, France).

I am looking for the date and place of marriage of Joseph Deshaies and Philomena Houle or Gervais. According to my research the marriage took place in 1861 or 1862 in the United States. Posible Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They had children in Becancour, Richmond, Danville, Quebec.

I am not sure if we may have a connection or not, but my gr.grandmother married a gentleman named Honore St.Cyr after the death of my gr.grandfather. They were married in the Tingwick (Arthbaska) area. I have found several records of their children being married in this area...one at St. Paul de Chester. You can contact me and maybe we can sort out what we have.

Basile Poitras and Julienne Mondor were not married in Quebec. They were married on 24 Nov 1884 Tache, MB.

All I know that they were married somewhere in Quebec and that in 1897 they lived in Ste. Anne Manitoba.

I was wondering if Edmond Mondor had any siblings. My Great-Great Grandmother was Julienne Mondor. She married a Basile Poitras. Edmond Mondor was named as God Father on Their daughters Baptismal Certificate. I was wondering if this is the same Edmond? Need Laforest article on Deshaies family

Does anyone have the Laforest article on the Deshaies family? It is in volume 7 of Our French-Canadian Ancestors.

Local state library has it, I've used them there before, but it has most of its books packed away - has done for two years, won't be back for some time, because we have to have a renovated library. They specifically told me the local university library has volume 7, and I made the trip downtown, to find that they only have volume 1.

If someone has it, can you possibly scan it and send it to me. Otherwise I'll have to get a library that has it to photocopy it for me, and that'll probably take a long time.

My ggrandfather Alfred Elzear StCyr (b August 10 1881)either NH or canada. married Florida Paradis Accd to 1930 census They resided in Orange County Vermont and His father was Elzear St Cyr I believe his mother was Celine Provencher of Canada. Telesphore Deshaies was my g-g grandfather. He was b: 12 Dec 1849 in Ste. Marie de Blandford, Nicolet, PQ, he d: ca 1920 Ste. Marie de Blandford, PQ and married Marie Appoline Marchand 13 Aug 1872 in Ste. Gertrude, PQ.

They had 10 children: Clarina (b: 1875),Alfred (b: 1876), Joseph Wilfred (b:1882), Joseph Amedee (b: 1888), Celina, Ernest, Gedion, Zephirin, and two daughters who married into the Desrocher and Boisvert families.

I have been researching him for years . He's my gg grandfather. He was born in Canada Apr.1855
1870 in Schroon Lake . Married Maria , She died Oct. 28,1918 in Port Henry , NY. * In the census records spellings are (Daha , Dahar , Dayha , Dahaw) In 1934 he was in Port Henry . I'm not sure when he died .
They had several children ( I think 15 , I don't have them all though)
His children were ;

Maria ~ B. Nov. 1873 married Oscar Christian- they lived in essex county

Katie ~ B. May 1876 married Fred Pigeon -she died Dec. 1905 in Hudson Falls ,NY

Delia ~ B. June 1878 married Samuel Burzee - She died Apr. 21, 1949 and is buried in St. Patricks Cem. in Port Henry

John ~ B. Feb.1891 married mabel Witz and lived in Erie , Penn. Died Sept.1980

I am looking for my great grandmother, Victoria Deshaies, born 1855, Ste. Gertrude, Quebec. She married Charles Lemieux, (DOB 1853) from Arthabaska, in Lewiston, ME, 1876. All I know of Victoria's life in Canada, she had a brother Honore Deshaies.

I can find Honore Deshaies, but none that connect to a sister Victoria.

Here is the info that you are probable looking for. Edmond Mondor married Emma Deshaies on 05 Aug 1878 St. Damien de Brandon.
Octave Mondor married Julienne Deshaies on 05 Feb 1872 St. Damien de Brandon.
Edmond and Octave's parents are Isaac Mondor and Elisabeth LaSalle. And Emma and Julienne's parents are Augustin Deshaies and Marine Gareau.

Edmond died on 19 Dec 1910 St. Damien de Brandon, age 57 years.
Octave died on 10 Jul 1891 at the age of 42.... they may have been living in Great Falls, NH at the time, He may be buried in St. Damien.
I hope this helps you.

My ancestry is traced back to Pierre Deshayes-dit-St. Cyr at Becancour, PQ (on the other side of the river from Trois Riviere). Augustin Deshaies was married to Celeste Bourbeau Aug. 30-1737. On my line, their son was Antoine Deshaies m. Jan. 9-1775; son was born named Antoine m. Sept. 22-1807. Perhaps they had sons named Austin?

this sounds like the same family, your best bet is to contact a woman by the name of Mrs. corlew/cooney. she lives near the great escape in lake george,ny. she wrote a book on the daha/deshaies family.i have a copy of the book myself and i can be contacted in writing at heather harrington 22 pine st. hudson falls ny, 12839. love to hear from you

Isaac Mondor's children marry Deshaies'??

While I was looking for my Ancestors I came across a Family Tree Entry. The Family Tree has an Isaac Mondor married to Elizabeth Lasale. Their son was Edmond Mondor who married Emma Deshaies at St Damien de Brandon. I believe they had another son named Octave Mondor who married Julienne Deshaies at St Damien de Brandon. I have an old family record with the parents of each Octave Mondor as Isaac Mondor and Elizabeth de Lasale and the parents of Julienne Deshaies as Augustine Deshaies and Marine Gareau. It would make sense that if Octave is Edmond’s brother and they married the Deshaies’ sisters. Could someone please help me verify this information?

Jean-Baptiste Deshais (son of Antoine and Anne Beausoleil) married Josette
Lefebvre (daughter of Antoine and Madeleine René) on November 6, 1815 at
Baie du Febvre.
I know that some Deshaies became St-Cyr and some Lefebvre became Descoteaux.

My great grandfather, Louis Severe St. Cyr's death cert lists his parents as Jean St. Cyr and Josette DeCoto. Since this was vermont we decided they meant Descoteau(x).

We found a marraige we belive is a brother.

We are finding the spelling changes on the same name and the name changes more than a little confusing?

Hi Emile, I'm looking for info on my great grandfather, Pierre St. Cyr who married Ameline Carpentier in Quebec. They came to the US via Glens Falls, NY, where my grandfather Napoleon Francis St. Cyr was born. They changed their name to Sears when they came to the US in 1890. They resided in Leeds, MA. Ameline had a brother, Flaubert, who also lived with them.

I was looking for the parents and marriage date for Charles (Tourigny) Deshaies and Exeyerill Marchant sometime between 1850 to 1880. My mother-in-law told me they had 21 children and came from the Victoriaville/Drummondville area.
