Arrived East Boston, Mass., lived briefly in Woodland, Maine, settled in Malden Mass., lived to age 90. Had one or more cousins in Pennsylvania. Was from larger family in Avellino - his father's name was Nicholas DeSimone, who died also at approximately age 90 in an accident.

Samuel DESIMONE & Felice FABRIZIO

I am trying to help my cousin, Chris DESIMONE research his DESIMONE family. He plans a trip to Italy and would like to see perhaps where his ancestors were from. He believes his ancestors may have been from Sicily, Naples, or Florence.
He has very limited information on his DESIMONE family and even less on his FABRIZIO family. Chris DESIMONE'S father was James DESIMONE born Syracuse, N.Y. in 1935. James' father was SAMUEL DESIMONE and he was born 1903 in Syracuse, NY. Samuel DESIMONE died in Syracuse in 1973. His wife, Felice FABRIZIO was born in Syracuse, NY 1907 and died there in 1994. I would appreciate any help with this family that you can give me. So far I have found nothing on this family. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
Renne Harrington

Joseph DeSimone Bridge

I have also seen this bridge and asked around about it as I am descended from DeSimone's from Italy and NY. I live in the Eastern part of Washington state and was visiting my son who lives in the Seattle area. I found out the bridge was named for the owner of the Pike Street Market which he founded. If you were there in that area it is very close to the market. My son sent me a listing from the telephone dirctory of DeSimone's in the area and there were many. I sent each one a SASE and asked then if they would let me know where the family came from and if they would be willing to share family history. That was about 15 years ago and I have never received one reply.

Desimones in Syracuse NY 1914 to 1920 - city directories?

I am trying to verify my grandparents time in Syracuse NY. My grandmother and chidlren arrived in the US in 1914 to go to my grandfather in Syracuse (616 Salina St.). His name was Sylvestro Desimone, hers Giuseppa Capolupo. Children were Maria, Arturo, Ernesto, Carmine, Silvestro. If anyone has access to Syracuse city directories from that period, I'd be very grateful for a lookup... By 1920, they were living in Connecticut.

Desimones from Sant'Angelo a Scala, Avellino, ITALY

My father's family is all from Sant'Angelo a Scala. His parents migrated to the US in 1914 along with five children. Parents were Silvestro DeSimone and Giuseppa Capolupo. Silvestro's father was Andrea, and Giuseppa's mother may have been Teresa. They were related to the Zaccaria family and to the Nappas, I believe. They first settled in Syracuse but moved to Connecticut by 1920. Would love to know if there are any other Desimones with origins in Sant'Angelo.

Frank DeSimone-Brooklyn, NY 1883

I belong to the NYBROOKLYN-Rootsweb list.
They recently posted a list of the 1883
graduating class from PS 78, extracted from
the Brooklyn Standard(newspaper).It had a
list of 147 class members who were graduating.
I had never known they had graduations from
grade school back then. One of the graduates
was Frank DeSimone. This may possibly be a
member of my family as they were all living
in Brooklyn at that time. Is anyone familiar
with a Frank DeSimone? If this was a class
that was graduating from grade school to high
school, possibly he would have been about 13
yrs old or born about 1880 which is not too
many years after my grandfather so he could
have been a brother of his. We are missing
family members. There are others named Frank
in this family. If anyone knows of a Frank
DeSimone from Brooklyn at this time period
I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Hi: I am looking for info on my great aunt - Dorothy Wilson who was born sometime around 1912. Dorothy Wilson went to private school in Buffalo, NY and married Frank DiSimone - I don't know what year unfortunately. Frank and Dorothy DiSimone attended Dorothy mothe'r's funeral in 1937 in Hamilton, Ontario. At that time Frank and Dorothy DiSimone lived at 54 1/2 High Street, Albany, NY. (I have done a search on the internet and can't seem to find a High Street in Albany.)

Does anyone have any info or anywhere I can turn to! I have taken a stab and phoned several cemeteries but had no luck.

Thanks! Heather

DeSimone from Rossano, Italy

If so, we may be related. Grandfather Vincenzo DeSimone married twice with 18 kids. My mother Marianna DeSimone is the youngest born to Josefina Minecelli, his second wife. Vin came to the U.S in the mid or late 1930's and met my grandmother at a wedding in New York. They went back to Italy and lived in Rossano until her death in 1958 and his death in 1968. If this sounds close...we could be related. I don't remember his first wife's name, but I believe she died from an infection caused by a rat bite. My oldest uncle Anthony (first marriage) is still alive in Rossano. I believe he is 86. All three kids from 2d marriage are still living (Franco, Achiropita, and Marianna)

DeSimone Family?

My father's parents came over on the boat in the early 1900's. Angelo DeSimone came over about 1908 and then his bride to be, Angelina DeGrazia came over around 1912. Angelo was from Cosenza (spelling?), Italy. I assume Angelina was from there also. My father isn't exactly sure what his grandfather's name was. It could have been Sam, Frank, or John. Angelo first settled somwhere in Pennsylvania and then when they heard about the coal mines in Utah they came to Sunnyside, Utah. My father doesn't have very much information on his parents. I recently talked to a woman named Juanita DeSimone from Florida, originally from New York. I told her about an article I read back in the 1980's in the Cosmopolitan Magazine that featured the most eligible bachelors. There was a man whose last name was Simone and he looked just like my cousin Gary Simone. Juanita told me this was her brother, Michael. It's possible we are related. If anyone out there has any info on this family or if you are this family please get in touch with me.
Growing up my father and his siblings dropped the De from their names to become Simone's, but his parents kept their name.
Thanks

I am searching for ancestors of my Grandfather Angelo DeSimone who was born Agust 5, 1885 in Lago Italy. His father was Gaberial DeSimone from the same town. Anyone with information on this branch of the DeSimone family, I would appreciate hearing from you. Please reply by E-mail.
