Hi Ann,
Here's the thing, my ggrandmother was Nora Earl(s)(e) from
Galway, specifically Claddagh. When I first sarted geanology 20 years ago, I wrote to the Galway Historical Society. The only family they had the father name was not legible. It was either Thos. Jno or Leo. the mother was Margaret O'Donnell. There was one son Simon, and Nora (Honor, Honoria) married 3 times.
Huband 1 was Curran, Thomas in NY (we think)
Husband 2 was Lee, no one knows his first name, but Jack O'Donnel (in his 80's when we spoke when my dad was still alive, thought it was John), we know he came from the Aran Isles (not which one). Husband 3 (my ggrandfather) was Bartholomew Gallery, born in Scotland of Irish parents. He had been previously married to a Bridget (or Ellen or Mary) Otis. When I found him enumerated with Bridget Otis (mother in law) in 1900 census his wife was already gone but two children remained: Bartholomew Jr and Ellen. They were in Hudson City NJ. Bridget was marrid to Lawerence Otis and in 1880, they had 3 daughters (thus the confusion of which one he'd married). Anyway, both children were born in NJ, but they could find no record of birth for either.
So, it's a possibility that Nora or her father are related to your line, however, this my most confusing line with very little verifiable sources. I have the cemetery and death dates for Nora and Bartholomew, but that's pretty much it. Nora is the woman on the right in the attached photo. Hope this helps.
