Joseph Philias (Elias) Deguire (Derosier)

My great grandfather was Joseph Philias (Elias) Deguire.
The name was changed to Derosier when they came to Minnesota. On his maarriage certificate both names are given. His father was Michel Deguire who also changed his name to Derosier in Centerville. Your post is "old" but

Have found Marriage certificate they were married in Rutland Vermont and Morris parents are listed as Peter and Delphine Drosie (should read Desrosiers) and Eliz's parents are Augustin and Marie Anne Bovie(this should read Beauvais) The correct names in Canada. I have a copy of Eliz's death and also Morris Death certificates.

My grandfather was Joseph Hermisdas Derosier; born July 31, 1877, St. Huguesm, Quebec; died Sept. 11, 1954, Cranbrook, BC. His Parents: Jean Baptiste Desrosiers, born about 1851, St. Hughes, Quebec Aurelie Guertin, born about 1855, St. Hughes, Quebec. Does this help anyone. I'm looking for leads on parents of Jean Baptiste and Aurelie. I can supply details on Joseph H. and his children, grandchildren etc. to date if anyone needs this information.

He had a sister, Agathe, and brother Frank living in MA. Also Uncle Hector Desrosier(s) died in MA but date is not known although he spent time in Western Canada prior to 1950.

Hello, I am looking for information on the Desrosier family from Quebec and Minnesota. Here is the information that I have. Grandfather Theophile Desrosier, Grandmother Adelina Desrosier/Fontaine, Children David, Roy, Francis and Fred. Roy Desrosier had three children Larry, Andrew and Jean. I am married to the son of Larry, Roy Joseph Desrosier. The family lives in Washington and we have recently moved to Montana. Roy's children are McKayla and Ciara Desrosier.

I have Zénon Desrosiers, son of Athanase Desrosiers and Victoria Sénéchal, married with Eva Vien in june 3, 1907 at Ste-Anne de Fall River, Mass. USA. Athanase Desrosiers, son of Theotime Desrosiers and Rosalie Ruest, married with Victoria Sénéchal, daugther of Alexis Sénéchal and Perpétue Pelletier, in may 17, 1870 at Baie des Sables, county of Matane, Province of Québec.

If it's correct, let me know. Also if you can give me the name of Eva Viens'parents.

Armena Married 20 May 1895 N. Brookfield, MA to Narcisse.
Have you info on her death place or year..Marlboro???
Where was Narcisse buried and the year? Were Oliver(Levy) and Clemence buried Marlboro also?
Any other info on any of her siblings b. N. Brookfield, MA ?

Hi again. My mother(Crystal) passed away last August. What info are you specifically looking for and I'll try to help.Mary and I have info on the Desrosier's going back to the 1600's. I think Mary got that info from Ella Mae Desrosier. I have recently gotten a ton of old pictures from my mother's house, also.

I would like any information on the Desrosier familys and all of Crystals sisters, etc. Also her obituary. Also , would like to know if she had a picture of James B. Boozes children. and if it happen to have a date on back to see if it was James B. Funeral day as it was taken during a summer or fall season. As there was no snow on the ground. It wasn't Druzella's funeral. So it had to be their dads. As in the picture was , Henry, James, John, William, Andrew, Kate, and Mattie Booze. Druzella was already deceased. I feel it was their dad, James. Hope to find a date so we can get the death certificate. Some one has to have it, some where. Or even an obituary. Any Booze pictures would be greatly appreciated as well as of Crystal and husband and their children and Crystals sisters and brothers and parents. Thanks, Shirley.

I did not get much on the Desrosier/Grover families. Only a little bit. I would like more and some pictures as well. I am still trying to get more on all of John Booze and Andrew Booze families. I need to find James B. Booze where he died I believe in Nebr. But not sure where, I would like to know if anyone has anything on him where he was last living. I know that he was still living in 1895- as Viola Booze Nelson was 8 yrs. old when he went out west. He lived with Andrew first before living with the others. Hi,

I have since recieved information that my James parents are:
Edward Desrosiers and Elizabeth Behan. However, I have not been able to get any information on them or how many children they might have had.

So far this is what I have:

James was born April 15, 1871. He died at 88 years old in New Liskeard, Ontario on February 28, 1960 . It was a train accident.
He and Lizzie married July 23, 1895 at St. Columbkille Church, Pembroke, Ontario, Canada. They had eight children.

Does this fit in with any of your information?

None of the names you mentioned ring any bells with me but we are missing several of my grandfathers 18 siblings - 14 lived to adults and he was one of the last surviving when he died in 1954. I haven't been working on this branch lately as we areplanning a Reunion of the descendants of my grandmother's parents for the summer of 2003. Heather

Ella Mae,I'm trying to find some info for a lady at work. This is the info i have. Elodia Derosier b. 6-24-1876 in Calumet,MI. married a Arthur Desotell. Her father was Bruno Derosier and mother was Sophia Provenchil. Elodia and Arthur had 10 children. Viola,Regina,Herbert,William,Joseph,Twins Alma&Rose,Walter,Anna and Maria. All the children were b. between 1901-1919. They ended up in Red Lake Falls, Minn., She is trying to find out if there is any Indian blood in this family.

Have you tried the Loiselle index of marriages in Quebec? (On microfilm at many FHL or can be ordered to your local one) Be aware that Desrosier can be spelled Desrosiers and is sometimes a dit name for Moreau. I am researching the same area Desrosier(s) families in Sheldon, Swanton and Highgate Vermont. Will check my file and see if I have anything to help you. I have run across the same marriages. My family can be found in Henryville, QC, Canada which is about the nearest town to the north with records from the mid 1830's. The Loiselle file will give you marriage place and date with parents' names (usually)

I suspect that Israel (m. Denisse Mollers) and Gaspard or Gospard (m. M. Chartier) in Swanton records are brothers and sons of Jean Baptiste Desrosier and M. (Amelia or Domitilla) Bourdon or Bourdou. There is a wedding record for a JB and M Bourdon in Henryville BUT alas no parents are noted. I plan to do some more research on this family to try to connect them to my own and if I come up with something I will post it or email you. (on one of the marriage records - I believe it is Josephine's it says that her parents are Baptist and Domotillo Bourbou. That could be Marie Domotillo or the Amelia of Israel's marriage record. Just got a clue from some church records, my relatives who have always been called Derosier, the names given in church records say Joseph Deguire Derosier. I also have Louis Deguire Derosier and Mitchell Deguire Derosier, they were settling in Centerville, MN. formally from Canada. Delore is also a name given as one of their parents. Am at a dead end. can anyone help? Thank you in advance for all assistance.
