I'm researching the Desserts from Pennsylvania.

John F Dessert (born Dec 1867 in PA) married Catharine (1868 in Ireland), I don't know Catharine's maiden name. (At one point John's brother Charles lived with them, he was born around 1872). They had 8 children while living in Philadelphia:

Joseph Francis (Jul 26, 1889)
James Albert (May 5, 1891)
Mary Celia (Aug 1893)
John Patrick (Aug 21, 1899)
Charles (abt 1902)
Helen (abt 1904)
Margaret (1905 died Aug 1, 1967)
Mae (abt 1908)

Mary Celia married Samuel Joseph McKnight, Margaret married a Purcell. I am looking for any information on the various lines and ancestors.

André, Don't know if you still look at this board. In my Courchesne genealogy I have Delphis Ovila Courchesne baptized March 14, 1880, son of Narcisse and Odile Fournier. Delphis godparents are Narcisse Charland and Elisabeth Dessert of Henryville. Any relation?

Hi there, I just read your message on the message board. I know it's an old message but I'm very interested in the desserre family website. My grandmother's maiden name was desseres. Marguerite Desserres married to Joseph Stanislas Courchesne. They were born and married in St. Guillaume d' Upte. County Yamaska Quebec. If I could have access to this site that would be great. Elisabeth and Pauline both of you should go to

then put in the name Francois Deserre to be found
then when that comes up look for the Francois Deserre with the author being Ancestors of Francois Deserre
that will open up all the ancestors that I have found for the Deserre family surname. Play with the system and you will be able to discover quite a bit of information.

I have this information but I cannot locate an Alice Dessert,

Antoine De Serre dit Dessert married Rose Anne Lepine in Feb 29, 1892. They had a number of children born from 1893 to just after the turn of the century. Antoin was the son of Felix De Serre born 1823. Felix married Rosa de Lima Leclerc. They had the following children: Antoine born in 1867; Alphonse born about 1865; Joseph; Marie Rose born 1856; Emma; Ludlivine; and Wilfred.

I am also interested in the Dessert family. I am looking for an Alice Dessert, b abt 1890, probably in Northern Ontario. She married Joseph Victor Daigneault abt 1912 and had 4 children, all born in Fort Frances, Ontario. This is a small town east of Thunder Bay, close ot the Manitoba border. I don't know if this family is in your own records, but I'd love to take part in the website.

Right now you should have received a password from Myfamily.com that will get you into the Desaire website. Once you get there, click on the icon for the FamilyTree. From there click on the icon for Larry Desaire. Then click on Search and Find Individual. There are a number of Dessert family members on the site. Even if you don't find the name you are looking for please search the rest of the site for names that correspond with the dates you are familiar with. We will continue to add names as they come up. I am decended from Louis Dessert of Fall River through his daughter Anna, married to Ferdinand Plourde. You are correct about the marriage . All children born to Melanie (I have 13; there were some babies who died). Louis and Melanie married in 1872. She died age 45 and he married her sister. No, sorry. By 1907 she was married to William LaRose, living in RI, and had between 3 and 5 children.

as Larry Desaire says 8/8/00 there are a number of variations of the dessert name - Desair, Desaire-Deserre. ours was Decerre only 3 generations back. There a a number of Desserts in the N.H. area, related to Henry Dessert. He was a canadian immigrant.

If you can trace your Dessert family back to Antoine Dessert born 7-14-1867 in St Guillaume, Quebec and who died 12-10-1924 at New Bedord, Massachusettes who married Rose Anne Lepinay Lepine, then I will be able to take your search back to Francois DeSerres who married Antoinette Ruby in the early 1600s in France.

I have a MyFamily.com website for the Desaire family. The Dessert-Desair-Desaire-Deserre etc. spelling of the name has changed throughout history. I will send you an invitation to join our website and you will receive a password in the near future. Once you are into the site, click the icon for FamilyTree at the top of the page. This will allow you to trace the ancestry. You will find the Dessert spelling of the family name. I do not have specific information on a Joseph Desser born in France in the 1800s but you might find a Joseph Dessert born in Canada or in Wisconsin during that time frame.

What a surprise! I was beginning to think Clara fell from the heavens and had to ties. As far as I know, Clara was born approx 1900. She died December 24, 1929 in Fall River. She had 4 daughters and was married to Amedee Saucier.
If any of this sound remotely familiar, PLEASE contact me. We are about to have a family wedding in Fall River next month, and I would love to spring new information on the family!

Lucky You- my cousin just gave me info on yhe Dessert line. Regina married William Larose most likely in Fall River, later moved to Pawtucket RI. Her siblings were Eutychènne, Anna,Charles, Joseph, Maria, Bernadette, William, James,Philippe,Yvonne? and two unnamed.
Children of Regina's marrage were Bertha McCraw, Alice (Paquette), George Married ? Blaise,Jeanne (Davenport).
My cousin Janice who gave me this info would happy to give you more info E Mail me for her snail mail. Janice's mom Rita Plourde summered inPawtucket, RI with Regina.

Homer J. Dessert, Wauregan, CT

Does anyone have any information on Homer? We know he was born Sept. 5, 1921, and died May 1955. We believe he is also buried in Wauregan.

Do not know where he died. Know he married Christine V. Raleigh, but do not know where, or what year they were married.

Believe parents names maybe, Amedee & Clara. Also had brothers names, Leo, Oscar, Dona, Amedee. One sister Cecile. Have no documentation yet to this.

I am also researching the Dessert name in Fall River. I am looking for any information on Louie Dessert family. He had the following children.

Etudieme, Regina, Alfred, Charles, James Anna, Joseph, Maria, Bernadette, William, Philip. I believe only William and Philip were born in Mass, the rest in Canada.

Louie was married twice I believe, once to a Melanie, and then a Mary, who might have been Melanie sister. Do not believe that Mary and Louie had any children.

Any information you have on any of this family would be greatly appreciated.
