      <description>Looking for parents of Stephen Deuell, b abt 1794 in Hudson, Columbia Co., NY d 15 Aug 1853. He married Eliza Acers @1820 and they had 6 children:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mary Elizabeth b. @1829 d. Feb 1897 (married Benjamin Harder);&lt;br&gt;Joseph b @1830 d. Apr 1902; &lt;br&gt;Henrietta S. b @1832 d. Dec 1892 (married Willets Jarvis);&lt;br&gt;Catherine b. Apr 1836 d. Jan 1921 (married Edward Moore);&lt;br&gt;Sarah M. b. 1838 d. Jan 1921 (married Walter F. Sturgis);&lt;br&gt;John T. b. Dec 1840 d. Jun 1921;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Stephen is buried alongside his wife Eliza, in Hudson City Cemetery, Hudson, NY.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;There are other Deuell/Duell members buried in Hudson though I have not been able to link them together:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Jeremiah b. 11 Jun 1774 d. 15 Dec 1844;&lt;br&gt;Hannah (wife of Jeremiah) b. abt 1781 d. 15 Aug 1859; &lt;br&gt;Benjamin F. (their son) b. 3 Sep 1802 d. 3 Apr 1885.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Any help is appreciated.&lt;br&gt;Catherine&lt;br&gt;</description>

I also found the search and print mechanisms hard to manage, but the information was carefully researched.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am seeking more information about Ebenezer Duell/Duel (1757-1841) and his father George (1732-1813).  I think that George's father was Benjamin. I actually have quite a bit of information on Benjamin Deuel (father of Joseph Putney) provided to me by my grandmother. He was born Jan. 6 1764 in Washington, Dutchess County, NY and died Feb. 20, 1846 Aurelius, Cuyuga Co., NY. He was first married to Sybil Putney (it is believed that her father was a Joseph Putney). This marriage occured prior to 1800, but it is not known when she died. He did re-marry to Hannah Birch in Oct. 1822 and there were no children from the second marriage.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;There is little, if any, information about Sybil Putney. I remember seeing Seth's name in an old family bible of the Bowles family, but there was no genealogical information. Sarah and Henry Bowles are buried in Casey, Illinois cemetery. I can send a photo of the stone if you can provide an e-mail address. I am not presently a member of Ancestry.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;There is also a Bowles DNA family history list containing the names of Bowles family members.       <description>In the 1885 state census of Benton in Freemont County, Iowa, I happened to notice the name of Daniel B. Deuel, born about 1811 in New York.  He was married to Charlotte Deuel, born in 1833 also in New York.  Ruth M. Golden,born about 1862 in Illinois, lived with this couple; and Ruth apparently had two childfren: Phoebe and Mart.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am related to the Deuels/Duels of New York. (There were many.) But I cannot place Daniel.       <description>Perhaps these tidbits will help other Deuel researchers. After much digging I now believe this man to be same as "Brosnyn, Owen, etc." Listed with Lewis B. Deuel &amp;amp; wife Elizabeth (Mallery) at Corinth, NY in the mid 1880s.  He married and had son Aubern L. Deuel, also a Saratoga Co, NY resident.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Father Lewis B. Deuel is still living at Corinth, NY in 1885 - he appears in Albany &amp;amp; Buffalo news reports as having broken his leg badly when a horse bolted while he was tilling corn. (June 25.) The poor man had to drag himself 1/2 mile home again.  1885 directory for New York Mills, Oneida Co, NY shows an L. Barton, Deuel, laborer, residing there at same address as Lews C. Deuel &amp;amp; family (Lewis C. known to be Lewis B.'s son) - presumably the injured Lewis gave up all farming.  The news reports call injured man 75 years old, which may be slightly off.  &lt;br&gt; Elizabeth/Betsey (Mallery) Deuel died at home of son L.C. Deuel in 1901 but was buried in Saratoga County, NY - location undetermined but likely Maplewood Cemetery.</description>

      <description>Hi ,&lt;br&gt;I am looking for information about a Henry Galley who lived in our house in Reach, Cambridgeshire,England .He worked on the farm at East Henrietta and we have a letter sent c/o Harry Porter in 1879 from Henry to his father telling of a party that was had at the farm at Christmas 1879. Henry was working on the farm for 8 dollars a month and was very pleased about it. It will not help much in your search but i thought it would be interesting to know.&lt;br&gt;Liz </description>

Mary, supposedly b. 1809, was the wife of William  Gates of Frankfort, Herkimer County, NY, a major match manufacturer at Frankfort during the middle of the 1800s.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Elsewise, it is alternately claimed that the same Mary Deuel was the wife of Martin Powell Blackman of Massena, St. Lawrence County, NY in 1830 and 1840 and removed to Marquette, Wisconsin where they are in the 1850 census.</description>

      <description>I'm hoping someone can help with information about Seth Deuel, born between 1805 and 1810 in Vermont, Father born in New York, Mother born in Nova Scotia.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;By 1840 moved to Illinois and by 1860 to Casey, Clark County, Illinois.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He had (at least) a daughter, Amy Lovica Deuel (1842-1879) that married John Nelson Conger 1861 in Clark County, IL..  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;From another board, I saw a post about a Dr. Israel Deuel and wife Mary that could possibly be the parents of Seth, but I need more information to confirm.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Any help would be greatly appreciated!&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thanks,&lt;br&gt;Mike</description>

      <description>I know this is kind of late to be posting, after all, it is 7 years later, but I just came across this. I am Tamera (Tammy Lea Deuel) and the youngest child of Mary Eva Potts. Yes, she is still in Bakersfield and doing well at 79. I believe the son of Jospeph Jasper that you are talking about that passed away while at work was my Grandfather, James Warren Deuel. He died at the age of 48 from a heart attack while working in the oilfields just outside of Taft Ca. This was a good 20 years before I came along. James married Wilma May Jolly (who passed away on Jan 21, 1993 at the age of 82 from a stroke). They had 3 children: Jack Deuel, who died at a very young age, while on leave from the Navy, in a car accident. He died at the Naval hospital in San Diego after being in a coma for some time. Mary Eva born in 1929, My Mother is still alive and well and living in Bakersfield, CA. She had 3 children of her own; myself, her only daughter I was born in 1968, Her oldest son is Gary Lee Deuel and her youngest son is Lawrence (Larry) Wayne Potts. James and Wilma had another son Donald Lee Deuel, who unfortunately died of a massive heart attack in 2003. He is buried in Greenlawn Southwest Cemetary along with his Mother. His son, Darryl died not too long after, also after a massive heart attack. I believe that his injuries from a motorcycle accident led to this if I remember correctly. I, myself have no children unless you count my boyfriends 2 boys from previous relationships. My brother Gary has 3 children; Jerry Lee Deuel who lives with his wife Melissa and son Logan in Vancouver Washington. His daughters are Kerri and Beth who both have married and have children of their own. Larry Potts married Nettie (Earlene Norris) and had 3 children; Randal Wayne, Amy Marie, and Laurie Dawn. Larry and his two daughters have lived in Oxnard and Ventura Ca for at least the past 30 years. Randy now lives in Texas. I do know that my Mom would love to hear from anyone who either remembers her or has missed her. I would also like to hear from my long lost relatives and hear of interesting family tales. Also, as of this time, I do not believe that any of the Deuels still remain on Deuel Ct. (which is really sad as last year on the news there was a shooting on the street and it kind of sounds like maybe the wrong people now live on the land that I know my Mom says was very important to her Grandfather and those that remember when the family was close knit and had family reunions). I, myself have a history degree from UCLA and learning the history of my family is very fascinating and important to me.</description>

I have finally made the connection to Lewis Deuel (Duel), born approx 1820 and Elizabeth (Betsy) Mallery, born approx 1824, who lived in Corinth.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This info comes from the Mallery family annals at the Corinth History Library.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Betsy Mallery's parents were Selah P. Mallery and Phoebe (Phebe) Mills, buried in Corinth.  Selah's parents apparently were William Mallery and Betsy Satterly.       <title>Frederick P. DEUEL, b. NY 1837, d. MI aft 1904, wife Charlotte</title>

      <description>I am looking for information on Frederick P. DEUEL, who according to the 1900 census, was born 1837 in New York.  He was listed as late as 1904 in a Tecumseh, Michigan city directory, and appeared with his wife Charlotte in the 1900 census.  He served in the Civil War, yet no pension file has been located.  He was apparently married and a father when he enlisted.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Actually, I am more concerned at the moment with finding Charlotte Deuel's maiden name, which I believe may have been Conklin.  The 1870 census shows a Nancy Conklin in their home as a "Ret. H. K.", probably for "retired house keeper".  At this point, I believe Nancy Conklin was the widow of a John Conklin enumerated in the 1840 census of Washtenaw County, Michigan.  She married my ggg-grandfather Charles H. Hoy in Washtenaw County in 1843.  I believe Charles died circa 1848, possibly in Lenawee county, as two of his underage children joined the Congregational church at Clinton, Lenawee County, Michigan in 1848, listing Tecumseh as their residence.  Charles Hoy's older children were found scattered in various homes in Manchester, Washtenaw County, Michigan during the 1850 census (except for my gg-granfather George Hoy, who even though married well before the official census date, was not listed with his new bride Sarah Lovejoy Root - she was listed in her mother's home with the remainder of her siblings by her maiden name).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I should also note that the Hoy family had been carpenters, joiners, and millwrights for several generations.  The occupation of Fred P. Deuel was listed as a millwright and carpenter.  It's possible that they may have had business dealings besides a familial relationship. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;By the 1860 census, Nancy Conklin/Hoy had remarried for a third time in Lenawee county during 1855 to Emerick Scriver.  He and his sons are not listed in the census, but later enlisted from Lenawee county during the Civil War.  I have not found any additional information on Emerick following his enlistment, and it appears that Nancy did not receive a pension for his service.  In Nancy's household was Mary Hoy, age 16, no doubt her daughter, and 8 year-old John Conklin, probably her grandson.  Mary Hoy married William Smith in Washtenaw county during 1861, and I have not found any additional information on the couple.  Also, I have not been able to find Fred and Charlotte Deuel in the 1860 census, although they were apparently married and were already the parents of Frank A. Deuel.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I know the Hoy family, despite living in Connecticut for some time, had ties to New York.  They settled in Michigan circa 1835, after a short stay in Toledo, Ohio.  I don't have enough clues yet to know if they migrated as part of a group from New York, but they did associate with other families from New York.  They seemed to travel along the Raisin River once in Michigan.  I don't have enough information yet to determine where these other families originated in New York, but any information on Fred Deuel's background would be welcomed news.  An equal part of the puzzle is Mrs. Nancy Conklin, and her family.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I'll place record transcripts concerning the family below.  It would appear that Fred and Charlotte's son Finley B. Deuel died before 1900, and son Frank A. moved to California, where it appears he divorced his first wife Agnes and married again.  Neither Frank nor his second wife are found in the California Death Index, athough Frank Jr. was.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Any comments are welcomed.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;1840 US Census - Washtenaw County, Michigan&lt;br&gt;NA Series:    Roll: 211   Sheet: 38    &lt;br&gt; J. Mrs. Charlotte Deuel may be one of the daughters listed here as under age 5.)&lt;br&gt;0 to 5, 5 to 10, 10 to 15, 15 to 20, 20 to 30, 30 to 40, 40 to 50, 50 to 60, 60 to 70, 70 to 80, 80 to 90, 90 to 100, over 100&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;1850 US Census - Have not been able to find Charles Hoy, Nancy Hoy, or Nancy's Hoy or Conklin children.  Some of the Hoy children are scattered in various homes in Manchester, while son George Hoy, although married, was not listed.       <description>In the (7) generation:  Volney Deuel is listed in the 1910 and 1920 census.  Volney and his wife Mary had 3 children: Emma, Willie and Cora.  Emma only lived to be about 5 years old. In the 1920 census, Mary lists 3 children born to her and 2 living.</description>

      <description>Thank you for replying so fast.  So far, I have only been researching in Saratoga County and Washington County.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;At the USGenweb site for Washington County, New York,Quaker marriages, I did find a few BOWEN names.  I don't remember if they were witnesses to the ceremonies or main participants because I was looking for DEUEL, ELDRIDGE, DENNIS, AND ALLEN names. Perhaps that site may have more information.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I do have the wonderful Devol book (Devol was the way William spelled his name when he came from England in 1630.)  It is also spelled Davol, Duel, Dewell, Deuel, and Dee.  You can order a copy from:  Julia Lambert, 2 Edgewood Court, Chillicothe, OH 45601.  It costs $92 but is well worth it.  The book has over 700 pages.  I have found the book very helpful when I have found a Deuel and didn't know where they fit into the family.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Devol book lists a FRANKLIN MORRIS DUELL, b.Kirkwood, Broome County, New York, 28 May 1908, d. Binghamton, New York, Sep 1979.  He is married to Carrie Mae Hoyt, b. Afton, Chenango County, New York, 4 Aug 1913.  Could this be the faher of your FRANKLIN DEUELL ? Some moves I have made, I never even opened boxes, just put them in the garage of the new house!  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am excited that I was able to contact you and really look forward to the Deuel Obit.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Were there any entries in the front of the Bible?  For us who love genealogy, any entries in a family Bible are considered "Primary Sources."       <description>Franklin was born in 1830 in Monroe County, NY. and was married to Nancy Bowen.  Their children were Alfred, Francis, Bradford (my Great-grandfather), Lockwood, Alden, and Bertha.  The 1860 census lists them living at Ogden, Monroe Co., NY.  The 1850 census lists Franklin living at home. His parents were Arnold &amp;amp; Elizabeth living at Clarkson, Monroe Co. NY. </description>

Was this Hattie Bailey (maiden name) born in 1855?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I just noticed her gravestone in the Bailey Cemetery in Greenfield, Saratoga, NY.  Who were her parents?  Whom did she marry?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am related to Martha/Patty Bailey, b.22 Sep 1815 who married Edmond/Edmund Deuel b. 1809.  They had five children.
