Looking for help in trying to trace my ancestry past my great grandfather. My grandfather was Arthur William DeVoe, b. 21 June 1911, in Pontiac, MI. He was an only child. His mother was Ethel Murdick, b. 10 June 1891, in MI. His father was Clarence DeVoe of/born in? New York City. Based on the age listed on Arthur's birth certificate, Clarence should have been born in 1885 or 1886. Allegedly he was a railroad employee who was killed in a railroad accident a few months/years (depending on the story) after Arthur was born. After that, Arthur's mother remarried a Losey(Locey?). Arthur always kept the DeVoe name, but apparently Clarence was rarely ever mentioned in the family. I know the facts are thin, but if any one has any possible links, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
