Looking for Devore in Van Buren County Iowa around 1840 to 1850. My G-G-Grandmother,Hester Devore married Isaac Mathews in Van Buren County Iowa 1845. Listed below Isaac Mathews in 1847 Iowa State census was a David Devore who I believe to be either Father or an Uncle. Hester b-Ohio 1826, Father b-Pa, Mother b-Pa. Close possible connection was Benjamin Devore Athens/Ohio then Lee/Iowa in 1850 but this connection might be a Samantha Devore and not Hester Devore also same age and birth state.
