Can anyone help me with information regarding my branch of the Dex family? My maternal grandmother was Edith Dorothea Sibina born 1908 in Cheltenham Glos. Her father was Henry Dex born in Cheltenham in 1869. His father was Thomas Dex ( was a butler) born in 1809, Guiseley Yorkshire he married Sarah Bailey in 1862 nr Portsea, Hampshire. They moved to Cheltenham after the birth of their first son John Thomas in 1864. My great grandfather Henry also had sisters named Sarah Fanny, Elizabeth Fanny, Ada Emily, Alice Elizabeth, and another brother Albert Edward. I think John Thomas may have gone to live in Derbyshire with his wife Agnes Ada Eugenie after their marriage in 1884. I understand they had 2 daughters and 4 sons. Brenda and Florence, Archibald, Cecil, Charles and Christopher. I have no idea how Thomas came to live in Hampshire. His wife Sarah was not born until 1836 so was young enough to be his daughter!
