Rosa Amanda Dexter Romine Jackson, 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed at 10:10 a.m. on May 23, 2009.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) and Nellie (Louise) Dexter; brother, William (Junior) Dexter; sister, Barbra Dexter-Ayers; brother, Reverend Michael Dexter; and son, Robert L Romine.
Rosa was born in Nelsonville, Ohio December 20, 1933. She graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1953. Rosa retired from the Las Vegas, Nevada Department of Education in 1997 where she worked with Special Needs Children as a teacher's assistant. After retirement Rosa returned to Ohio to be close to family and friends
Rosa is survived by her children, Cheryle Y. Edwards (Milton) of Columbus, WG Romine II (Orvella) of Kansas, Thomas D. Romine (Jaimie) of Utah, Kamala R. Fisher (Thomas) of Columbus; ex-husband, loving and close friend, William G. Romine, Sr; and his two daughters, Anna and Melissa; brother, Thomas Dexter of Belpre; sisters, Betty Dexter-Bowers, Mary Kathreen Dexter-Williams, Donna (Daunae) Dexter-Lewis, Rebecca Dexter-Watts, Gertrude Dexter-Bias; and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at EDWARDS FUNERAL HOME, 1166 Parsons Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43206 on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to your local cancer society in Rosa's memory.
