I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I am the Great-Grandaughter of George W. Ratcliffe. Our family relocated from Pittsburg to Seattle quite awhile ago, and I can try to get more info as to dates, etc.. George continues to be a family name. My sister and our children are the last generation of the Ratcliffe family from my direct descendants. (being George, Ron, and Craig Ratcliffe) I have several old photos (I will get my book today and get the names) of family members I have never met, but our family did make an attempt at one point to do some research. My Grandmother (Beverly Ratcliffe-by marraige) has boxes of photos, letters, etc.. Feel free to ask any questions.

Henry (Hendrik Lewis) was the son of Menne (Harry) and Ytje (Ida Dykstra) deJong>DeYoung of Kent, Washington. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1892. The DeYoung's moved to Washington in 1895. Henry had a distinguished career in Washington as an educator/principal. He died in 1966 in Lacey, Washington.

And just for the record, that 1910 census record I mentioned above is also a match. The child "Junia" was not transcribed correctly and should be the Tunis DeYoung mentioned in Donna's post. I have submitted a correction to the record to ancestry to help those that come after.

I know of Anne (wife of Joseph) Her parents are John and Anne DeYoung (Anne Allman) from Oudorp, Flakkee (The Netherlands) I am the great grand daughter of John, grand daughter of his son Tunis (Anne's brother) and daughter of Tunis's son Donald. Any info you need, I got alot and I am also in contact with Joseph DeYoung's great great grandson. It's a tremendous tree we are growing. Ask me your questions and I'll try to help.

There is a very tempting looking 1910 census record out there for John and Anna De Young in Paterson with children Ryan, Anna, Joseph, and Junia. The younger Anna shows born about 1894 which matches the 1930 census record I have where she is married and I know that is confirmed. Howevver, I'm looking for some confirmation - Anna is obviously a pretty common name. If anybody knows about this group I'd appreciate the info, even if all it does is let me take that 1910 census record out of the shoebox.

Hi Forum members... I was born in Charlestown Mass Sept 18 1941. Father was Josep De Young and mother Edith Lillian De Young (nee Hall).

I had a sister named Susan De Young. I lost track of my sister when mum & dad got divorced in about 1944 or?

My mother died around 1985 in the USA, but I do not know where!

I would dearly like to find the family of my true father. He was in the Navy at the time of my birth and he was born in 1920 according to my birth certificate.

Mrs. Henrietta Tilma, aged 96 of Wyoming Michigan went to be with her Lord for her homecoming on Saturday March 27 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Tilma in 1992; and a gradndaughter Robin Tilma. She is survived by her son Robert and Jean Tilma; her daughter Lola and James Austin;grandchildren, Robert and Brenda Austin, Scott and Lisa Tilma, Julie and Mike Phillips;great-grandchildren, Liz and Courtney Austin, Cody Cross, Robyn, Nicole and Cameron Tilma. I am looking for any information about my family tree. My father was Francis David DeYoung of Guysborough N.S. born 11/27/25 died 3/08/05, his parents were FATHER Walter David DeYoung who died 06/20/1943 at age of 50 yrs in New Glasgow N.S. , He was of French decent and was born in Braintree Mass., USA His death certificate was filed by a Mrs. Joseph DeYoung, not sure if this was a sister-in-law or daughter - in -law . His marriage to my grandmother is believed to be his 2nd marriage and he supposedly had children from his 1st as well. MOTHER Margaret Cecilia Harris(DeYoung) maiden name (Bedford).She was born in 1909 and died in Stellerton N.S. at 79 yrs old. At the time of her death she had 16 children from 2 marriages and a brother John in New Glasgow as well as a brother William who predeceased her.Margarets mother was Annie Bedford (Guthro) who had a sister Margaret MacLean(Guthro) and a brother James Guthro.

I'm looking for a John DeYoung. I found out at the age of 30 that he was my biological father. I know that he lived in Oak Lawn, IL in the 60's. He was about 21 or 22 in 1966 (year I was born) Also know that he's been married a couple of times and as far as i've been told never had any other children. Just wondering who he is and what he looks like. Every older man I see on the street I wonder if he's my dad. If anyone's out there that knows him, please let me know or let him know I'm looking.

Daisy DeYoung, my great grandmother, married George W. Ratcliffe in Buffalo NY in 1891. They moved to Pittsburgh, Pa in about 1900 where she died in 1943. She is buried in the Ratcliffe family plot in Homewood Cemetary in Pittsburgh. I need information about her parents and lineage to complete the geneology for that side of the family. My grandfather was a DeYoung who lived in northwest Iowa in the 1930's to 1978. He was born in 1894, but I don't know if he was born in America or Holland. I also don't know his parents or if he had siblings. All I have is his birthdate of January 11, 1894 and death date of October 24, 1978 in Sheldon Iowa. His name was James H. DeYoung and he was married to Margaret Japenga.

Does this fit with any of the 10 brothers and sisters of your grandfather?

The only information I have to go on is his parents are Klaas DeYoung(on his headstone here in Michigan its DeYounge)...and Wilhelmina DeYoung(Kremers) also buried here in Michigan...Grand Rapids to be exact...I have an obituary for Grace Curtis(DeYoung) his sister...I was just wondering if anyone out there is related....oh yeah other information I have is....He married a woman by the name Nellie Muers...from what I'm to gather...they divorced I'm assuming not by choice....Henry sent postcards back to the family while looking for work in the early 1900's....They had two children...from what I'm told....Carrie DeYoung who died young...and Henrietta DeYoung who is now 95 years old...Henrietta married Edward George Tilma....She would just like to know what happened to him all these years....and why he left....If there is anyone out there that is related to this family or knows information about this family please please contact me...Thanks Christal Fricke

I would LOVE to get in contact with my Aunt or her children. If I ever met her I don't remember, but I do know her name was Mildred Lahoma Yates-DeYoung. Her parents was Agatha Martha Gibson-Yates & Otto Yates, she had a brother named Robert, and a half sister My MOM Martha Agatha Miller-Somers..... She was possibly born in Texas and moved to Michigan when her parents seperated, my grandma lived in the Detroit area. It has been a long time since your original posting and maybe you have the information you want.
My Great Grandfather was Joseph Benoit who was married to Marguerite Caroline Fougere. Joseph's Father was Simon Fougere who was married to Elizabeth Boudrault. They married in 1861.
Simon was born July 23, 1840, son of Michel Fougere and Anne Landry. Elizabeth was born June 14, 1840, daughter of Placide Boudreau and Marguerite Jauffret (Gauffret) both in D'Escousse. (see church records)

Anna [Luidens] (Dykstra) DeYoung, 91, a resident of the Christian Home, Waupun, died on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Christian Home, Waupun, WI.
Anna was born on June 1, 1911, in Randolph, the daughter of Sam and Hattie (Luidens) Dykstra.
She was married to Norman DeYoung on June 5, 1935, in Fox Lake.
Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Randolph area and later resided in the town of Alto, from 1955 to 1995, at which time she moved to Waupun. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun.
Survivors include six children, Gladys (Robert) Brakrog, Wheaton, Ill., Kathleen DeYoung, Elmhurst, Ill., David (Vicki) DeYoung, Oakland, Calif., Jim DeYoung and his wife Leslie David, Whitefish Bay, Jean DeYoung and her husband Frank Burke, Wheaton, Ill., and Gary (Peggy) DeYoung, Wellesley Island, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Hattie Biermann, Waupun; three brothers, John (LaVone) Dykstra, Herman (Hazel) Dykstra, and Al (Thelma) Dykstra, all of Waupun; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and two brothers, Nicholas and Fred.
