Classification: Query
Surnames: SPOSA, ESPOSITO
In another forum, someone mentioned that Sposta was originally Esposito in some families. Esposito of course comes from "exposed" - meaning children who were left at churches or orphanages when parents couldn't (or wouldn't) be able to care for them. Descendants of Avigliano have a huge presence in Waterbury, CT and in Port Chester New York. There was a recent conversation on Facebook page "Avigliano and Aviglianese".
