I'm so excited to hear from you. My name is Toni DiBernardo and I'm from New Castle, Pennsylvania. I have extensive DiBernardo family History. Do you know where this part of the DiBernardo's came from? My grandfather Annibale Giovanni DiBernardo came from Camigliano, Caserta, Itay. The surname Sposta is also from this village. You mentioned Port Henry, NY. My grandfather had a first cousin named Angelo DiBernardo who was first married to a Mabel Carusone...but the family when they came to America changed this last name from Carusone to Ross. Mable had died during child birth back in the 20's I believe it was. Then he married a Jennie Esposito who just passed away this September 25th in Albany,NY...she was 90. Now my grandfather's side also has twins all through this family. Does any of this sound familiar?
This DiBernardo family all started out in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before spreading out throughout the country into NY, still in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Also in this family are the surnames of D'Onofrio, Palandra, Cenname. I noticed you also have listed the surname of Rocco. They are also from Camigliano. The Rocco family has a Monsignor in it his name was Carmine Rocco. If interested I can send you in PDF File all that I have on this family. I got all my information through The Morman Church so I have everything documented and sourced. Looking at the the name Leon and I'm thinking mabe changed to be more Americanized. Alos this Angelo DiBernardo and his wife owned a dinner in Granville,NY called the Granville Dinner. I was told that this was still family owned but I have no idea by whom. I have alot of old pics that I would also be willing to share along with all the info I have. I hope that there is a connection here...with this surnames I'm thinking there is. Looking forward to hearing from you. Toni DiBernardo
