Obituary: Theresa Dials, Portsmouth, Ohio (1969)

I’m posting this obituary in case someone may need it. I do not know the family and have no other information on this family.

Portsmouth Times, Portsmouth, Ohio
Friday, December 05, 1969
Part of an article on Theresa Dials

Death Ends Dials Girl’s Long Struggle
(Continued From Page 1)
surviving until Thanksgiving were doubtful. Her chances that she'd live until Christmas were indeed slim. Funeral services for little Theresa are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Daehler Funeral Home, with Rev. John Klein officiating. Interment is to be in Memorial Burial Park. The child had fought a gallant but losing battle against cancer for 11 months. Her illness first was diagnosed as cancer last Jan. 18 at Huntington's St. Mary's Hospital. In late January at Cincinnati's Children’s Hospital, surgery removed a large malignant tumor located behind a lung and against the child’s heart. Besides her parents, Theresa is survived by a brother, Douglas Ray; four sisters, Ursula, 18, Rosita, 15, Dagmar, 13, and Ingrid, 10, all at home; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dials of Wheelersburg. Friends may call at Daehler Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Harrison in his book lists a John Calhoun Dial on page 219. He was b: Jan. 26, 1856 in TN; m. Lula Lane. They had 5 girls, so this can't be your direct line. But, you know how the Dials love to use names over and over. His brothers, cousins, and their children have somehow used the name again.
His pedigree is John Calhoun5 Dial (John Cox4, John3, Joseph2, Robert1. He was the 5th generation in America. How, all you have to do is fill in a couple of generations to you and you will have it done. We have a common ancester in one or two generations before Robert. So, we are not too far removed. Ha!
If you have more questions, let me know.
