Henry Diamond from Ireland to Scotland

I'm looking for information on Henry Diamond(born in Ireland died in Scotland) married to Marge McGill in Ireland. Together they had 2 children that I know of Betty and James Diamond.

James Diamond(B: Ireland D: Scotland) married Catherine O'Neil(B & D: Scotland) in Scotland. Together they had 9 children(Catherine, Anne, Henry, Margaret, Hugh, James, Daniel, Rosina, & Ellen) all born in Scotland between 1865 and 1887. I believe all of the children who married on the 9 had children all also born in Scotland but then I lose them from there.

If anyone thinks this looks the least bit familiar please reply and let me know.

Peter L. Diamond and Harriet E. Holland...
I have George S. in my tree as well, will explain in a second.
I am researching Harriet E.'s mother...she may be Harriet E. Hardy, daughter of George and Harriet Hardy, sister to William Shepard Hardy, Ephraim Hardy and Rebecca Hardy Foster. Do you have any information...

I would love clarification, I have George S. Diamond and George W. Diamond...both in my tree. John Diamond's wife Mary Johnson was the sister of my ancestor William W. Johnson. I descend from his daughter Talulah, source US Census 1870 with William W. and in 1880 with her cousin James Diamond in Santa Rosa. Talulah married William Shepard hardy Jr of Jay Fl.

I have George Stonan married to Martha, children Andrew and Peter and to Kathrine Sunday Johnson, children 8 total... Stella, Ella, Washington, Walker Harvey, George William, Benjamin, and Clara. I have him as a son of John and Mary Ann born in Aug 1845. Then I have George W. Diamond, born in 1846 wife Julia McCurdy, daughter Nancy. Julia McCurdy is a kin of my McCurdy's. I can't recall now if one of the George's says he's born in AL and the other in FL or both say AL in the census...

Also, do you know if Katherine Sunday Johnson is a Sunday by chance?
Elijah McCurdy married Barbara Sunday in Escambia county 1831
My genealogy homepage
http://jenniferhsrn2.homestead.com
Hopefully someone will see this... The William you speak about lived in the same area as my Grandpa. His name was Donald Mckay Diamond (married Helen Endicott) his parents where James Ashby Diamond and Lena Rivers Childers. My grandpa was born in Lawrence County and lived in Wayne County and in Huntington. I know very little about the Diamond side and that makes it even more interesting... Any help would be great!

Hi Kim,
I am afraid that I don't really know anyone from the Diamond side. I recently was visiting my mom in West Virginia and we made a trip to Ohio to find some things and I have found the following information. My grandfather was Donald Mckay Diamond born 1919 in Ohio. He married Helen Endicott. Don's parents were James Ashby Diamond and Lena Rivers Childers. I found all these names at Rome Cemetery. Here are the other names that I saw. Billy A. Diamond SR (he was in WWII) b:27Nov1921 d:29Mar1990, Betty J Diamond b:3May1924 d:1Oct1997,
Jette T. Diamond b:11Jan1911 d:5Jan1976, Jack Kimball Diamond b:23Jul1922 d:1Nov2000, Charles F Diamond b:15Apr1919 d:19Dec1959, E. Wilson Diamond b:6Jul1889 d:27Apr1967, James Diamond b:1913 d:1923, Hope W Diamond b:15Aug1891 d:3Jan1975. Those are all the names I am know that I am related to. I would have to ask my grandma how I am related to them since they are all before I was born. If you happen to know any of those names please contact me at crystal.soucy@comcast.net. I hope this helps!

I am looking for information on my great-great-grandmother-Sarah Diamond who according to family, married Ammi C Teel(I can't find a marriage certificate). They had one child by the name of Herbert Teel -my great grandfather. While Herbert was born in Philadelphia, he was raised by his fathers' second wife Elizabeth in Maine. Family stories have it that Sarah came from Ireland with her folks - not sure when. If you have any information on her or her parents I would greatly appreciate it.
Hello Marilyn,

I am delighted to hear from a descendant of this family. I am the Great-Grand-daughter of Margaret Alice Diamond (born 1884), the youngest of the children of William and Kate Diamond. She married Leslie Herbert Trend and had two children, one being my Grandma Kathleen born in 1909 in Sydney (later moving to Adelaide). Margaret Alice died in 1949 in Adelaide.
I have the children born to William Thomas Diamond and Mary Doolan but only birth years with no dates, and not one born in 1903 but in 1901 and 1904, so not sure which one was yours?

I have a lot of info on the Diamond ancestors back to the 1500's in England.

I would be very interested in hearing more from you, if you'd like to contact me, my email address is mitchkells@virginbroadband.com.au

Regards,

Kelly Dyer.

Anyone know of Diamond-Scullin family links

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to all this, and gathering in info. so any help would be appreciated.

At 3 family funerals ranging from 1934-50 newspaper reports list several Scullins as cousins of the deceased, who are one branch of my family.

The Irish News (paper) reported, 24/5/1934 on the funeral of Miss Brigid Diamond, from Portglenone, that among the funeral party was Patrick Scullin and Rev. Felix Scullin, Church offical in Downpatrick, as cousins.

At her brothers (my g grandfather) funeral in January 1938 the paper listed these 2 plus Harry Scullin as an unspecified relative.

In the paper, 5th June 1950, on the funeral of the last of these 3 siblings, Rev. Edward Diamond, Parish Priest of Portglenone, the funeral was again attended by Rev. Felix Scullin, at this stage working in St Malachy's Belfast. Others present were Mrs Scullin, Cross Roads, Derry, as were Henry (possibly the Harry refered to above), Michael. The final Scullin present was Patrick Scullin of Claudy, Co Derry. Again the family connection is listed as them being cousins of the deceased.

One last detail, I can say that Fr Felix Scullin went onto work in the Ballymena - Glenarm area, dying in 1972.

So, if anyone can tell me how the Diamond and Scullin families are linked, I would apprciate that.

Ciaran Crossey
crosseyc@yahoo.co.uk

As you can see from the attached descendant tree I have a possiblity in the 1621 to 1675 slot.

Cheers,
Dear Kelly,

Thank you so much for the reply.

Whilst I can't immediately link my Great Chart/Woodchurch/Willesborough/Hinxhill Diamonds to your family tree (but I will keep on trying) I am looking at 8 coloured photos plus transcripts of Brenchley Diamond family gravestones taken at least 15 years ago by my Uncle Frank Diamond. I am more than haapy to PDF them for you.

We can trace our tree back to Peter Diamond who married Ann Goble in Boughton Aluph, Kent in 1621. The tree includes John Diamond hung for smugglering in 1748 at Chichester.

We live in Canberra and I see you are in South Australia

Our email address is adaplace@bigpond.com

Phone 02 62824410

Would love to talk about the potential family ties.

Cheers,

John Diamond

Hi there,
My interest is in Diamonds from County Antrim, specifically Ahoghill-Portglenone-Crumlin.
My GGF Patrick Diamond (? - 1938) had a brother Charles (1865? - 1943) died in Kingston Ontario. His other 2 grown up siblings lived and died here, Briget (d1934) and Fr Edward (1950).
Their parents were Michael Diamond (c1815 - 1908) and Mary McCann.
Any info on them would be appeciated.
Ciaran Crossey
crosseyc@yahoo.co.uk
ps Family stories say that some of the Diamonds also moved to Australia, but I've no more info.

I have a William Diamond who was born Northern Ireland. I have the ship record to the US. He was born abt 1831 in Ireland and died between 1875-1978 I have a copy of his probate will, but it doesn't have the death date on it. The Probate record for William Diamond is indexed as Dimond and is at the Courthouse at Troy Kansas, Doniphan County. William had a homestead there in Doniphan county, Burr Oak township Kansas. He is no doubt buried on it.

Other sources:
Census records for Doniphan County Kansas
Burr Oak Township
1865 30-32 Diamond William (head) 32 yrs old Farmer born Ireland
Emily (wife) 32 keeping house born KY
Rathford Maria (dau) 10 at school born KY
(census taker error should be Catherine maria Rutherford)Tracy (dau) 7 at school Born MO
(census taker error should be Theresa)
(note: the two children are William Diamond's step daughters. They are actually the children of Joseph Rutherford and his wife Emma (misindexed here on this record as Emily) The children's names are also misindexed and miss spelled. The correct names are Catherine Maria Rutherford and Therasa Rutherford. )Any help would be appreciated!
