My great-grandfather's brother, John Fitz-Henry, married Elizabeth Dibben on 12 March 1899 at St. Mark's Whitechapel London. She was 25 at the time. I have found her entry in the 1881 census as living with her family (father William Dibben) in Portisham Dorset England. She died in childbirth in January 1900.
Why, when all my other relatives of this era didn't move more than a couple of miles during their whole lives, did this young woman come from Dorset to London? I don't think she had family in London as John's brother and sister stood witness to the wedding.
Can anyone furnish me with any details about this Dibben family?
