Hi Carolyn,
I've attached a page from a publication in a genealogical magazine called "Your Ancestors" that was published back in the '60's. The Dibble genealogical work was done by VanBuren Lamb, Jr, who died in 1991. This page is a summary of the previous page I sent (which was more like his family group sheet with notes). I currently have all of his research notes, which is one page of 14 binders he left behind.
This page will give you information on that family as researched by Lamb, but not the lineage back to Robert Deeble of Dorchestor, MA. circa 1634.
If you are collecting your information using Ancestry.com's online feature, after inputting, Joseph Dibble and Abigail Platt as parents, Ancestry.com should tag them with the little green leaf and lead you back. Otherwise, if you send me your e-mail address, I will send you an invitation to join a Dibble Family group I established on Yahoo! where you can download a GED file that I entered of Lamb's work, consisting of 8 generation's of Dibbles.
I've been researching the Dibble line since 1997 or so, and have not had contact with another person descended from Joseph family (other siblings and first cousins). It's been my hope to find someone with a bible record or something. So you contact is somewhat rewarding. Can you please tell me where I can the book _Early Settlers of NY State_?
I do have photographs of Joseph Dibble's grave in Austerlitz, NY, if you are interested. I visited there a few years ago. While snooping around I met a woman named Sally Light who had a bunch of stuff on the Dibble family there. Unfortunately, I was traveling with my wife, and couldn't bring myself to ask her to camp out. Ms. Light indicated that she sells her services to those wanting to find out about the genealogy. I have her contact information, and if you e-mail me I'd be happy to send it to you.
I would be interested in the Reed descendants from this family, and would be happy to share my stuff with you. I have posted my ancestry on Ancestry.com under Dibble Family Tree, or you can reach me at

I also have a forum of Dibble researchers (around 300 or so)at:
