Hi Steven! I'm going to try to get the author name and the editor one as fast as possible. I'm going back today to this bookstore where i saw that book. I'll get back to you shortly on that issue. An interresting fact is that Jean-louis Dicaire was born in 1694 in Newfoundland( Terra Nova, New-France) and baptised on the 24-04-1706 in Montréal( Ville-Marie at the time), which leaves us with a gap of almost 12 years. I'm wondering too where the author found any evidence which sustain his announcing of Jean-louis german origin. Something i remember well is that i saw that:"Jean Decker est le premier allemand à avoir immigré au Québec où il fut baptisé à montréal en 1706." It's also possible that this Jean Decker is not our Jean-Louis Dicaire, even both names would have been baptised in Montreal in 1706. Let's try to find that book everyone! Youri Morin
